Humpty Dumpty Day

This morning I feel like I am in a fog. Literally it looks the same out my window. Fall is here people! I didnt want to get out of bed and I still feel asleep right now. I did however, sleep like a rock. I am glad too. I think that I owe my deep sleeping to this thing that I got from yoga paws. I have already reviewed this product but darn if it isnt the best thing since sliced bread! These things work. I am telling you, since I have been wearing this at night I have had the deepest sleep ever. Thanks again to Yoga Paws for sending me this bonus!

This morning called for a wake up call....

A warm, peachy wake up call. I have been saving this peach for about a week now and it is ripe. I had half of it in my oats this morning and my oh my was it good. I am in love with peachy good oats! It warmed me up and woke me up!

After breakie I snacked on some un pictured raw almonds and then headed out to do some errands. Another cup of dark coffee may or may not have been consumed....;P

I decided that today was a walking/yoga day. I usually break my workouts into two sessions...One on my lunch break and one after work. Yesterday was running for 47 minutes and a 3 minute walking cool down with bicep and tricep training for about 40 minutes. Today....is a active rest day. I have decided that I am not going to be doing back to back tough cardio and lift sessions. There is no way I am going back down injury lane. So instead today will be walking for 60 minutes and then yoga later tonight. I am looking forward to enjoying the fall like day. For lunch today it is going to be quite different. Hold on to your seats! Yes, my friends...That is a sandwich. I know that you have never seen me eat such (seriously haven't had a sandwich in about 2 years). Today however is one of those days that I like to say IS SAMMIE TIME. Karen my roommate (and best friend ever!) accidental left her sandwich that she bought from the Co Op in the fridge. It is going to go bad before she eats it so I am just going to have to do the dirty work on this one ;) I am glad to have a excuse to do this one time deal. Not only is it a sandwich....It is my FAVORITE sandwich. The Hammie Sammie from the Co Op is the best! It is on marble rye bread, fake ham, Munster cheese, mustard, veganese and pickles. So So so freakin good. I am looking forward to this sandwich more than you know. After lunch I snacked on a raw bell pepper with mustard. My favorite crunchy snack (besides pb2 and celery, which I will be having after getting home before dinner.)

I always eat dinner before going to yoga and this is what is to be had. I figure....Go light and healthy since you had a sandwich earlier in the day. I hate that my mind works this way but whenever I have something "indulgent" (in my mind anyway) I always try to counteract it if at all possible. So here lies my dinner. Yep, steamed chicken and veggies. Story of my life! I put some jalapeno peppers on this batch to make it spicy. I go to yoga and then you know what it is baby!!!!

"desert" time. This is my new found love...Kabacha squash, smashed and mashed into the most delightful desert. I put a few pecans and stevia in the mix and wow, I could eat this everyday. I just might ;)

I don't know if squash is better for you to eat instead of potatoes but it sure feels like it to me and I want to believe that it is better carb wise to. I have been giving up my one glass of wine a night for this baby and I gladly would !

Hope you guys and gals have a great Hump Day. See you tomorrow with a review on yoga chips! I am excited!

Tootles!

yoga and are like peanut butter and jelly!

Yesterday, I got home and found this at my door!

JADE HOLDS As Jade is made with open cell, natural rubber, you can say goodbye to slipping on your practice mat - even if it gets wet with perspiration. Natural rubber has long been used where safety demands non-slip performance. Jade takes advantage of the non-slip properties of natural rubber- resulting in the best slip-resistance on the market. Try it - we’re sure you’ll agree.
JADE PERFORMS In addition to providing better slip-resistance, because it is made of natural rubber, Jade has exceptional resilience, unmatched “compression set” resistance and incomparable cushioning. These characteristics guarantee you the ideal mat for those looking for maximum comfort and performance.Jade can be hand washed with mild soap and warm water; hang or lay flat to dry (out of direct sunlight).
JADE is GREEN Jade is constructed of natural rubber, a renewable resource tapped from rubber trees - containing no PVC or ozone depleting substances. Perfect for the yogi concerned about the earth and is made in the USA in compliance with all U.S. environmental and labor laws and through its partnership with Trees for the Future, JadeYoga plants a tree for every mat sold.

I WAS SO EXCITED!!! Why? Because I was going to a yoga class in less than a hour and I would have my very own mat to bring and try out. Yes, I am one of those...I love yoga but never got around to getting a mat. Now I have what I feel is the BEST mat ever! I loved the color that they sent me and I LOVED how I didnt slip around at all on the mat. This mat was made for enderance and I think that it is the best in it's class. Here are some more facts about Jade!

What are Jade mats made of?
Jade mats are made with natural rubber and contain no PVC or other synthetic rubbers. Natural rubber is tapped, like maple syrup, from a rubber tree, a sustainable, renewable resource. We use natural rubber because it grips better and has more cushion than any of the synthetic rubbers on the market (PVC, PER, TPE, EVA). It is also better for the earth as it is made sustainably. In addition to natural rubber, our mats contain both natural and man-made components. The precise components of our mats are proprietary (the last thing we want is someone knocking off our mats overseas); Jade mats contain no PVCs, heavy metals or ozone depleting substances. All components are approved by FDA for use in rubber in continuous content with food.
Is there latex in Jade mats?
Although Jade mats are 99% latex free, as they from a rubber tree, there may be trace amounts of latex proteins in the mats so we recommend persons with latex allergies avoid contact with our mats.
Where are Jade mats made?
Jade mats are made in the United States in compliance with all US environmental, labor and consumer safety laws.
What makes Jade mats eco-friendly?
Jade mats are eco-friendly as they are made with a renewable, sustainable resource - natural rubber, tapped from rubber trees. Jade mats contain no PVC or other synthetic rubbers. Perhaps most importantly, Jade mats are made in the United States in compliance with all US environmental and labor laws. Finally, through its partnership with Trees for the Future, JadeYoga plants a tree for every mat sold.
When will that rubber smell go away?
The natural rubber smell will dissipate over time. The best way to accelerate this process is to air the mat out in a well ventilated area - maybe even in front of a fan - but not in direct sunlight. Because natural rubber has natural variations in smell, and everyone has different sensitivities, the amount of time it takes for the smell to dissipate varies. For most people a week or two is enough, but for some people it may take a couple months (but just like with a car tire or bike tire or anything made of rubber, even then there will be some residual smell.)
How do I wash my mat?
As Jade mats act like sponges - and hold water, we recommend simple wiping the surface of your mat on a regular basis with plain water. If your mat needs an occasional deep cleaning, that is fine, but you should be aware that as Jade mats act like sponges, holding soap and water, you must be prepared to thoroughly rinse and dry your mat. You can wash your mats by soaking in a bathtub, hosing it off or in a front loading washing machine (no agitator) on gentle. We recommend a mild soap. Do not use oils, solvents or harsh abrasives. The mat should then be hung or laid flat to dry. DO NOT DRY IN OR ALLOW PROLONGED EXPOSURE TO DIRECT SUNLIGHT.
What can I do with my old mat?
Click here for 25 ways to reuse your yoga.
What do you mean by "Buy a mat. We plant a tree?"
While it has always been our goal to make the best performing yoga mat on the market and we are very proud that Harmony is made with natural rubber, a renewable resource, contains no PVC or ozone depleting substances and is made in the United States in compliance with US environmental laws -- we felt we could and should do even more. We looked for a partner to help us give back to the earth and found Trees for the Future to be the right choice. What we like about Trees for the Future is that they work with local communities on projects that are environmentally and economically sustainable. They are not about going in and dictating what they are going to do, doing it and walking away. They engage the local community which leads to a project that can continue long after Trees for the Future has left. Trees for the Future works to develop and implement programs to improve living standards for the participants, by the careful management, rather than the exploitation, of our natural resources. Through this partnership with Trees for the Future, we plant a tree for every yoga mat we sell.

All in all I give them a 10! Thanks to Shanieka, I was able to try this mat out and LOVE it. I am spreading the word too ;)

With this mat I feel good about the way it was made, what the proceeds go toward and that I am doing my body good. What better way to practice? I say go to their site and see for yourself....You wont be sorry you did!

On to Eats!
Pumpkin, banana oats! With a blob of almond butter, of course!

This was just what I needed on this super cool monring. It was 54 degrees out this morning and I need to warm up and get going. This did the trick. After breakfast and running around it was time for a snack...I had about 30 , yes, 30 raw almonds. Dont ever trust me around nuts, especially raw almonds and cashews, they are my favorite and I never can just have a hand full. Never. I then went out for my interval session and boy it was good to get out side and run my little heart out. When I got back this was waiting for me!
Chricken breast salad. I added all kinds of veggies to the mix, egg plant, purple green beans, onions, mushrooms and some avocado top. It was divine!

After about a hour I had a raw chopped bell pepper dipped in spicy mustard.

When I got home from work it was two stalks of celery and some PB2. Then headed to the gym to get in some arms! I needed a great arm workout and today was the day for it. I worked it! When I got home and showered I was starving!

This was had:

Indian chicken salad with a few sips of white wine. It was perfect! I relaxed and then had some much needed desert...Kobacha Squash....I love you.

After this I crawled into bed with my book. My window open, listening to night sounds and I just relaxed. Life is good....if you are me!

IT's FRIDAY!!!

Thank Goodness!!!
I am so ready for this weekend and I want more than anything for it to be 4:30 already!!! Today's post is going to have some great eats and a great review, Get ready for these products, they blew me away!

Here is their story:

We source the highest quality organic & wildcrafted, fair trade ingredients for all of our recipes. We use a unique 5 element food combining based on ancient techniques to balance our recipes with all 5 tastes and deliver amazing healthy products for your whole family. Our organic raw chocolate superfood line is packaged in the very first ever-printed package that is made with NatureFlex TM non-gmo, sustainably sourced, 100% biodegradable and compostable materials. We are the pioneers in the food industry to deliver our delicious superfood products in sustainable packaging. To read more about how we package our Raw Chocolate Superfood Line in Biodegradable & Comostable materials, click here. Our new Super Smoothie Mix line is packaged in dark amber glass jars to offer maximum freshness. We use eco-friendly labels to print the labels for the Super Smoothie Mixes. We are working towards creating individual one serving packets for all the Super Smoothie Mix flavors that will be made with the same biodegradable & compostable materials that we use for our Raw Chocolate Superfood Line.So it all began preparing for a long hike on the beautiful island of Kauai. We had very limited room in our packs and wanted to be as light as possible. So we mixed almost all of the ingredients that are in our original raw Chocolate Goji Treats together in a bag and brought out into the back-country as our food supply. We wanted to have the most potent organic superfoods ever in one mix that would provide all the nutrients vitamins minerals and antioxidants we need to keep us nourished, happy and energized for the hike. So there it was hiking out in the wilderness with a delicious raw balanced superfood mix and continued to trek along.Throughout the hike we encountered a few hikers that were quite malnourished as they had run out of their food supply and still had many miles to go. We offered them a small handful of our organic superfood mix and almost instantly they felt nourished and energized again to continue along on there hike.We later encountered them again and they immediately began to tell us how wonderful and energized they felt for many hours after we gave them just a small handful of our organic superfood mix, and asked if they could have some more. We then gave them more of the organic superfood mix and continued on our way. That’s when it was all clear. These foods are so powerful that just a tiny bit which appears to not be much at all in regards to substance, it was more than enough to re-energize those hikers we met that they couldn’t stop telling us how amazing it was and how much it helped them.So now the inspirations all started to come through, this is all wonderful!. So now how could we create a raw chocolate superfood truffle of this quality with all the same ingredients and package it in a sustainable way so that out on the trail you could just bury the package and know it will compost back to the earth leaving no trace. That way it would be full circle sustainable. That started off almost 2 years of research to search for suppliers of biodegradable non-gmo, sustain ably sourced, compostable materials. Through supporting small fair trade organic superfood and specialty ingredient farmers and packaging them sustain ably, we would be providing a truly sustainable organic product and lay a foundation for a new level of conducting business. We are very honored for the opportunity to provide you with Superfood Snacks Sustainable Organic Superfood Products.

I got three products from the Super Food folks and the first thing that I tried was the Gogi Berry energy balls! OH MY GAWD...They were good and not kidding about the energy part!

I also loved the cocoa balls as well. Both were the perfect pick me up and satisfied my sweet tooth! Now that is saying something!
I also got this!

I got this super green smoothie mix and WOW! I loved how smooth my smoothie came out. It did taste green but not too green for my taste. I t was perfect blended with some egg whites, banana, strawberries and unsweetened almond milk. This is going to be my breakfast of choice this weekend for sure. I love this stuff! I was surprised at the taste and how I felt afterward. David Wolfe wasn't kidding when he said. "Keep making the best super food snacks ever." I really feel that way too. I think that this company really really has a great thing going on for them. I give them and their products a 10!!
PLEASE go and check them out for yourself....you wont be sorry you did!!!
Thanks so very much for introducing me to these products I am hooked!!!
On to breakfast eats!
What better way to start off Friday than with some banana, pb2 and dark chocolate chips in your oat bran....I cant think of a better way to start the day! I am in love with this bowl this morning! Oh so good.

I am going to do some interval training on my hour long lunch break and then I am going to come back to the office and chow down on this! Steamed veggies and chicken. Simple but totally will do the job as far as hunger goes for me today. This is what my dinners have been looking like but I decided that since I am going out to dinner tonight that I will be having this baby for lunch.
It will hold me over for the rest of the day.
After lunch I will return some phone calls, reply to e-mails run some errands and then hopefully I will look at the clock and say "Wow! This day went by fast! It's 5:00 already!" Lets hope anyway!
So there you have it...My review and my food. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! See you Monday!

Thursday already?

Man...This week blew by! I am not complaining, not in the least! I am excited to say two words to you all. HAPPY FALL!!! It is officially fall and I am already in the mood for some festive activities. I cant wait. I am going to start out this morning with a review. The reason why this review is just right for this post is because I actually started out my morning with this product. Barry's Bakery sent me some of their french twists and I couldn't be more excited. These babies with a big ol cup of coffee is just the perfect start to a morning. I think these are brilliant because they are only 30 cals a piece. Food that you can feel good about is what I am all about!

Layers of Cinnamony sweet puff pastry. Each Weight Watchers approved Twist is only 60 Calories and Low Fat. French Twists have NO Cholesterol, Butter, Eggs, Yeast or Dairy. Just Great Taste! Check it out! I got all the flavors that they offer and I gotta say, they all taste great!

Here is a little bit about Barry him self!

Just like me, many Americans suffer from health problems that require them to give up the foods they love. Many of the foods that fall into that category are snack foods that are not acceptable to those of us on special diets or watching our weight. It is for that reason that I created French Twists.
Back in 1989, I suffered a major heart attack, followed by bypass surgery, all at the young age of 42-years old. Needless to say, my entire life changed. I was now on a strict exercise program and had a number of dietary limitations—one of those being “no sweets!” For a sweet lover like me, this diet was extremely difficult to maintain.
Like many people, I found my new dietary regimen rather staid and boring, there was nothing on store shelves that provided the sweet flavors I craved without the guilt that went along with them. So, I set out to develop a great tasting snack that would keep me within the parameters of my Hearth Heart healthy eating plan—without guilt! After much experimentation I finally developed the winning combination of great taste, crunch and the perfect sweetness that satisfied my neglected sweet tooth. My new creation, which I called “French Twists,” fit in perfectly with my new healthy eating plan. Each French Twist is only 60 calories a serving (just 1 point on the Weight Watchers point scale) and contains no dairy, butter, cholesterol, eggs, yeast or sodium. They also proudly wear the OU kosher designation.
Finally, I had the magic recipe I had been striving for; layer upon layer of puff pastry, sprinkled with sugar (made from beets) and cinnamon. I proudly indulged and offered them to unsuspecting family and friends—wondering—would they like these snacks as much as I do? Well I got my answer when everyone who tried French Twists inquired into what stores they could find them in, and, if I’d make them a batch after they learned created the recipe from scratch.
So this creation became a family business, with everyone playing a role in their production. We decided to call our company Barry’s Bakery, and set up our first manufacturing facility, the family garage. Since then we’ve move into larger and larger facilities, based on demand. Recently we moved our manufacturing facility to Tolleson, Arizona where there was more room to accommodate the ever-increasing demand for French Twists.

Gotta love a good story.

Please go to their site!!! They have some pretty amazing products!

Thanks Barry! I give you guys two thumbs up!
So this morning after my twists and my coffee I got a little work done before my stomach started talkin to me!

I had to go back for more coffee (shhhh) and then went for this! Are you ready for some food porn???

This just may be the best bowl of oats to date. Pumpkin oats for my introduction to Fall! I mean....Look at that bowl! It was as goooooood as it looked. Trust me! Almond butter, egg whites (to make it fluffy), unsweetened almond milk, banana, pumpkin and some stevia and I was in business.

Today I have decided that it is going to be a rest day for me. I need it. I am going to just have a good day of eats and be done with it! A girl needs a good rest day every once in a while! For lunch it was this!

Boca Burger and a salad. I LOVE pickles so I had a few with it. I also had some un pictured snacks! Sorry! I had some raw cashews, a raw bell pepper dipped in spicy mustard and two squares of dark chocolate...Dinnah is next peeps and it is a good one! Oh yeah! I am totally going to take advantage of the fall produce and did just that with my food for tonight. Steamed chicken with diced acorn squash, red cabbage, tomato, onion, carrot, cilantro and curry spices over a bed of organic, local spring mix. This was just the colorful dinner that I needed. I also had a fantastic glass of red organic Malbac wine! Yum!
Well folks this is my post for today...I managed to get in some great eats and a great review! See you tomorrow for FRIDAY!
Gotta love the sound of that!

Battle of the Soaps!

Good Morning!!! This week is going to be battle of the soaps this week. I got some soaps from a few different companies and I am so excited to rave about them! Yesterday I tried out the first one. It was from:

They sent me a box of there spa stone soaps!

I could smell these "stones" before I even opened the box! I really liked the packaging. I opened the box and there lied a pretty soap dish and four soaps in the shape of the stones that you would see in a spa. I picked up the black on and took a whiff. WOW, I thought. "These smell wonderful". I then went right to the bathroom to try them out! I was amazed that with just a tiny bit of water these soaps had a great lather. It was smooth, silky and the aroma wasn't over baring. I really felt like I was getting a spa experience!

Gianna Rose creates the Soap Stone. The stones used in luxury spas are elements believed to bring harmony and balance to everyday life. Our designer spa soap is reminiscent of real spa stones. This spa-inspired soap contains fragrant extracts of Green Tea, Ginger & Mint to relax and rejuvenate your mind, while its organic style acts as a décor enhancement. Packaged in a striking faux bois gift box, made with recycled components. Our unique soap stones are packaged with a beautiful and practical ceramic soap dish or in an apothecary jar. Gianna Rose soap stones are very detailed and accurate renderings of beautiful spa stones, in colors and shapes that are fun to behold and generous to use. Triple-milled and vegetable-based, as all Gianna Rose soaps, these soap stones will add panache to your home or private sanctuary.

Look how pretty! You can turn these soaps into the most elegant table setting. I LOVE things that have more than one purpose! I give them a 10. Thank you so very much for the box of these spa stones. If you want something extra special please go to their website...You wont be sorry you did!

This morning I woke up and realized that I had a dentist appointment :/

The thought of them drilling in my mouth at 7:30 this morning was not what I call a good way to start the day. Instead I tried to be positive and say "Let's just go and get it over with!" I did just that. I went in and got the filling and out I went with half a numb face and relieved that it was over. I got to work, carefully sipped on my coffee and got started on work. A hour later my mouth felt a little better and I was ready for some food! I am going to have the same thing as yesterday as far as food goes but you know how I like to mix it up a bit!
French twist oats! I went a little crazy this morning (must have been the laughing gas) and desided that maple syurp and raw almonds were needed in the mix. This is the perfect warm rainy day breakfast! I loved it!
check out this give-a-way!
and this one!

See you tomorrow!

I am back!

I am back from a long weekend and I have to say. Mondays usually hit me like a ton of bricks and usually even more so after having a few days off but this one hasnt been that bad. This weekend was spent with my family and I enjoyed being with them all. I did quite well as far as diet goes while being at home. It is always so hard for me to stay on a plan when I am home. Does anyone else have this problem? I did get something extra special for my birthday this weekend!!! Oh yeah! I got a new nano i-pod! I was soooooo excited to purchase this. I thought to myself "go for it!" I use my i-pod like 3 times a day and my other one wouldnt last but for about 45 minutes before it went dead. I would have to do cardio...then charge it up while I was stretching....then use it to lift weights. I now will be able to use the new one for hours! Yippy! I cant wait to use it. Ok on to eats peeps!

I havent had this in four days, I was so ready for it this morning!Banana oats baby! Yeah! It is a rainy gloomy day here in GA and this was the breakfast that made me feel good and smile. I was so happy when I knew that this was going to be in my tummy. I chopped a half banana, pb2, unsweetend almond milk, egg whites and salba. Yum! I was going to have this tea and be good but I went for the coffee instead this morning. Oooopps! I will have the tea later on ice though.

This weeks food is going to be pretty much the same as last weekend but with a few changes, no worries though. I will be reviewing some great products this week so you will be occupied for sure. I got a big ol bag of raw alomds and will be munching on those through out the day (carefully). What's for lunch you ask....Well, I will tell ya!

I have been into boca burger salads lately. Mainly because I am lazy and dont feel like going back to the tuna can yet. I added every fresh veggie I had in the fridge plus a ton of avocado to this salad! It was great. A unpictured raw bel pepper dipped in mustard was had after this as well.

I am going home, changing clothes and then going to go to the gym! I am ready to get in a good work out today. Today on my lunch break I am going to do 40 minutes of intervals and then head back to the office. That is the only way I get through the other half of my day really. I am having a wonderful dinner. It involves freah egg plant from the garden! Red curried vegitables and steamed all natural chicken. Yes! This is the dinner that is going to fuel my evening workout and I ma going to need it. I am going to lift some weights and then head on to yoga. I am looking forward to Yoga so very much. I love Curry Love curry sause. I will be sorry to see it gone. I am going to have to get me some more for sure. I will also be par taking in this baby later this evening! Best chocolate ever! I have got to have my chocolate and the darker the better. I am going to try and make this bar last me this week. I just put it in the freezer and then when I need a square I just grab it. Oh so goooood!

That will be paired with a glass of red wine I am sure. I havent been to the store yet to get my bottle but you better believe that it is going to be a red wine and organic and just the thing to wind down with at night. There you have it guys my food and life for this dreary Monday. How was your weekend? Tell me! I will have some great things coming up this week so keep peaking at the blog!

See ya!

Short week after all.

Unfortunately, I have to start this post with some bad news. I had a death in my family and will be leaving this afternoon for my home town. I will not be able to post until Monday. I am sorry. I don't really have much to report right now anyway. I do however have some great products coming my way that I am totally excited about though. I will have some great reviews coming up.

Lets get to breakfast, shall we?You cant tell but there is a lot going on in my oats this morning. I have unsweetened almond milk, egg whites, mixed nuts, .25 of a melted banana, 1/2 a peach and salba in the mix today. I feel like I needed a little more than usual today. I am going to need it. I have a long drive a head of me. I am not sure how in the world I will be getting in my work out today. My lunch break needs to be letting the dogs out and packing my food for the next few days (yes, I bring my own food when I go home and look like a freak, they don't have any health food stores there). I am going to steal my sisters gym key though so that I can work out tomorrow evening I think. It will be hectic and quite busy so I will just have to see. If I can get in the work out today then I can take off tomorrow. I have been on a roll lately and I am just not wanting to get off track!

Lunch?

Same as yesterday. I feel bad for eating soy products but it was easy and inexpensive=me!

Looks like my boca salad needed some mood lighting. Ha! I kept this photo because it really made me laugh this morning. What a sexy salad?

I will also nosh on some bell pepper and mustard (the usual). I am planning on bringing with me my dinner already packaged.
Baked chicken with curried veggies. Yes, this is the plan. I am thinking that this is going to be a quick weekend and today is already going by fast. I am sorry that I don't have much to rant about today it is just one of those raining days. I will be back in good spirits and with lots of reviews!

See you Monday!
