Welcome to the World of the Ginger People
The Ginger People is the leading brand of ginger in North America. With state-of-the-art ginger factories in both California and Australia, we take pride in being the most innovative, quality-oriented and environmentally conscious ginger producer in the world.

I was greatly surprised to get a wonderful package from The Ginger People! I LOVE this product and cant rave enough about them. Last night before going to the movies I opened up the small bags of assorted flavors and then put them in my purse for some movie chewing! I first tried out the peanut ginger chews then proceeded to the spicy apple and then on to the original. I was going to do a review on each one but I dont have to. Each flavor (and I tried them all!) have one thing in common....AWESOMENESS!!! Amazing and the absolute perfect thing to have after a meal or snack in my opinion. Not to sweet, not to spicy. Just right. The Ginger People did something right!

I think that little Ginger guy is the cutest! I love how they are individually wrapped. These are so easy to throw in your purse, desk or to have around the house. LOVE EM! Go to their site and check out their products. My gosh their sauces look amazing!
http://www.gingerpeople.com/us/
Thanks Ginger People for the surprise. You guys get two thumbs up from me! Keep up the amazing work. I have to say. The first thing that I did when I woke up was eat a peanut Ginger chew (shhhhhh). I am not kidding. I was thinking about them all night!

So, after my morning chew I got up stretched a bit, brushed those teeth and out the door I went. Yes...another night of no good sleep. In my dreams last night I was making HUGE egg and cheese sandwiches...Weird, very weird. Anyway, I decided that I wouldnt bore you with the same ole same ole food today. I am having the exact same thing today as I have been for the last few days. I am one of those peeps! I can eat the same thing over and over again if I love it. One thing that I will show you though is my oats. Those are ever changing! Are you drooling yet? I know that I am. Blended oat bran with walnuts, almond butter and the best over ripe banana I could find. Perfection. I never ever get sick of my oats...That is for sure. Today I am going to go on a walk with a co worker hopefully getting in about 3.5 miles for a 55 minute walk (we are super power women!).

Oh yes, and dont forget about my give-a-way!!! It is going to be announced tomorrow babes! I am excited about sharing with you all!

Middle of the week = almost over!

This morning was a tough one. For sure. I am telling you I just cant sleep anymore. I dont know if it is the Colonix but I sleep for about three hours and wake up like I have been asleep for days on in. That would be a good thing but waking up at 2:00 a.m. and not being able to get back to sleep is not my idea of a good night. I always end up getting back to sleep and wake up super groggy. Me don't like! This morning called for two things.

I had a huge cup of coffee and about .30 of this amazing grass bar. I needed a little something in my tummy to get me started and honestly I am trying to milk these for all that they are worth! This was just the combo to get me going this morning. After getting to work and getting settled in about 2 hours later I dug into this beauty! Best Oat Bran yet! I have to say that the almonds and banana really pulled this breakfast together. Of course the chunky almond did hurt ;p

I am still in love with this breakfast and really surprised that my oats have lasted this summer. This is really the only hot thing that I eat through out the day. Today is going to be packed with goodness and I needed a good start! After e-mails, errands and phone calls I needed to get out and be active! I decided that today was going to be a circuit day. I did arms, chest and some much needed cardio. I felt great. There is nothing like a good sweat on my lunch break. When I came back I was ready to have some much needed lunch! I know that this is a funny picture but I thought that you guys would get tired of seeing the same ole tuna salad everyday. This is what it looked like before I started chopping like a mad women! I also had a wonderful addition to the salad. Drum roll please!!! It is review time! I got these in the mail yesterday! I was SO happy to try them out and that is just what I did. All of them in fact! I usually don't try out three new products at once but I was curious if the next would be as good as the last. I was right! Here is a bit about them straight from the site!

At Musselman's, they believe making healthy, delicious apple sauce is more than just a job. It's a way of life. And that's why the growers who have spent their entire lives nurturing and harvesting apples also own the company.Simply put, Musselman's is made from the best – and made by the folks that know apples best.

I can vouche for this. These tasted great! Musselman’s Healthy Picks apple sauce has a burst of flavor and nutrition in every bite. This Healthy snack provides a good daily source of fiber and calcium as well as antioxidants from delicious “superfruits” like pomegranates, açaí berries and cupuaçu. I liked the raspberry acai one the best. All are fantastic though and I will be buying these again. Food that you can feel good about for sure. PLEASE go check them out!

http://www.musselmans.com

How’d you like to provide you and your family with delicious snacks every day without feeling guilty about it? Well, with Musselman’s, you can do just that. Whether you’re eating Musselman’s with a meal or enjoying a single-serve cup while you’re on the go, you’ll be fueling your body with healthy, nutritious ingredients. Better yet, Musselman’s Apple Sauces, juices and ciders are so delicious, eating healthy tastes as good as it makes you feel.
Apple Sauce naturally has no fat or cholesterol and is low in sodium.
Kids will be kids - which means they’ll be looking for a variety of snacks between meals. With our Sesame Street Fruit-Flavored Single-Serve cups in your cupboard, they’ll have plenty to choose from.
Every 4-ounce Musselman’s Single-Serve cup equals one daily serving of fruit.
Boron, found in apples, is an essential trace element that helps to harden bones, which may reduce the onset of osteoporosis.

Pack a Single-Serve cup and take it with you so that when you have a craving for a snack you don’t have to resort to a vending machine.
Sugar rushes have met their match. Apples contain complex carbohydrates that give you energy faster than eating something high in sugar.
Apples contain pectin, a water-soluble fiber found to reduce levels of cholesterol by removing it from the bloodstream.

With that all being said I give them a 10! Thanks so very much Krista for being so sweet to send me these my way.

After lunch I ate a small bowl of un pictured cherries and on my way home I went. Tonight I will be going on a walk (about 45 minutes) and then eating dinner to go to yoga for a hour and a half. I am so happy that yoga is full force in my life! This is the dinner that will get me through!
Not trying to toot my own horn but DAMN my food looks and taste good today. This is a tahini sauce that I made (I cant thank living community enough for my new found love of tahini). I am going to be smiling all the way to yoga. I will be having a side of steamed brocoli as well. A girl needs her greens! After yoga I will be home, in bed and will need a night time snack.
I know that I said that I was going to cut down on my fruit this week but it will have to wait until next week. I am just so happy to be eating fruit in season this year! So there you have it. Another day of amazing eats. There may have been a bite or two of super dark chocolate from Newman's Own Organics in there too. Shhhh, dont tell! Tomorrow will be just as good and I am excited for what tomorrow will bring. I still haven't herd from the boy but I am sure he is trying to keep it cool and wait a few days. Why do guys do that. Call us already! Anyway, I am hoping that the probiotics come from Dr.Natura today or tomorrow. I am ready to try this stuff to see if it works. It is like the Colonix works for two days and then not at all for three or so days. It is annoying because I am doing everything right. Oh well. I guess we will see if month two will be any better! Have a great day you guys and keep your eye on the prize. Friday is near! Just to make it that much better who wants to enter a give-a-way?!??!!
Well I am going to be giving the same package that I got away to one lucky person this Friday! All you have to do is tell me that you linked my blog on to either twitter, your blog or face book. Happy posting! I am so excited to see who the lucky wimmer will be! Enjoy.

In the meantime check out thsi give-a-way!

Tuesday is the new Monday...

So, this morning I am back at work and back running around like crazy!!! I am glad to have a job though and one that keeps me busy. My days seem to go faster and faster. I am sorry if I sound like a old person but where has summer gone??? I cant believe that it is already August, almost! I mean where has it all gone? This morning I woke up about 2 minutes before my alarm went off. I love it when that happens. I got outta bed and the first thing that I noticed was that my knee appears to be almost better! I swam yesterday and have ran a bit the last few days and I have to say....I think that I am the only person in gym that had a a HUGE smile on my face while running on the treadmill. I DO NOT take this for granted and I doubt that I ever will. I am only running for 5 minutes at a time but I do have to say, this makes me happier than ever! I mean, just to sweat makes me so happy. I have been out of commission for a few months (almost 4 to be exact) and I really thought that I would have a bum knee for ever. I am healing and it is getting better every day. I swear I will take as good care of myself as possible once I am really up and running again.

So in celebration this morning I went for it....This mornings oats (and I was dreaming of them over this past weekend!) was oat bran, blueberries, PB2, banana, strawberry jam and half a nanner. The special ingredient of the day was SALBA!!!

First of all, I had never heard of salba before testing out these products. When a rep from Salba Smart contacted me, I thought, "Huh?" That's about it.Then I got a nice box of Salba Smart food: Salsas, Chips, and Pretzels (as well as a couple of tiny bags of the salba seed.) I looked into salba a bit more, tried the products, and felt enlightened by what I learned. Here's the scoop on salba:
It is a nutrient-packed grain grown only in Peru
It is the richest whole food source of Omega-3 fatty acids and fiber found in nature (which we know is good for your heart and your whole body!)
Ounce per ounce, it gives 3x the iron in spinach, 15x more magnesium than broccoli, and 6x more calcium than whole milk (and I hate drinking milk.)So what does it taste like? Well, since Salba Smart products have the salba seed mixed right in, you really don't "taste" the salba... The salsa is a fresh-tasting and delicious recipe with a hint of a nutty flavor (probably from the salba.) It's especially yummy paired with the Salba Smart chips they sent (which are very crisp and also have a nice grain-nut flavor -- but not too "healthy" or overpowering.)All-in-all, these are a super snack! They balance flavor with the benefits of salba, and if you didn't know of a good way to sneak in a bit of extra nutrients into your diet, this is it! You will see later in the day....I tried the salsa and wow! That is all that I can say!

After breakfast I am going to work a bit more and then get in a 3.5 mile power walk with Shelly (my fave) and I will be energized a awake when I get back. What will I have for lunch you ask?A simple tuna salad. I went all out for dinners this week so I reverted back to the good Ole tuna salad for lunch. You cant loose! This is the lunch that I will be having. Later in the day I will munch on these gems! This week I went with Rainer instead of Bing cherries. So freakin good. I am eating my weight in fruit these days! These are sooooooo pretty too, I almost hate to eat them.

I will be going home to do a yoga video and then will be eating some much needed dinner. Tonight (and for the rest of the week it will be this! Tofu and shrimp stir fry. I tossed it with some garlic broccoli! Wow, this will be making another appearance for sure again. This is one of my favorite dinners in a while....I topped it off with something so very special! This organic salsa is amazing. You cant even tell that it has salba in it. Seriously, Smart Salba gets a 11 in my book. What great customer service they have! I love this company and will be hooked for sure after this. Get used to seeing salba in my diet and from Salba Smart because I got a bunch of products and will be reviewing them as I try them. Thank you so very much for sending me your amazing products! You guys rock! PLEASE go visit their site! http://www.salbasmart.com/

Friday makes me HAPPY.

I had a amazing time last night on my date! Yippee! FINALLY I have had a tiny bit of success with a guy that is normal! We had a great time at a wine tasting and then we went to dinner. By the time dinner was over I looked at my watch and was so surprised that it was 10:00 p.m. (now that is a good sign). I hope to see him on Monday. I am thinking that this could be a good thing!

I had some blueberry oats today. My meals are going to be different today for sure but breakfast is the same, and I don't mind at all!
Whoa! Look at that close up. You wanna eat it....don't you? Well my friends this tasted as good as it looks for sure. I am telling you, it doesn't get better than this. My lunch today is all veggies. I feel a little weird just eating veggies but I am having a Tahiti sauce with it and a spelt wrap. Not my usual lunch at all. Since I am just having veggies with a spicy Tahiti I decided that I needed more substance. So here you have it. Yummy. I am also going to be having a small Brazilian papaya!!! I am in love with this fruit this season as well. Great picture if I do say so myself. I am thinking that I am going to be eating more of this later this weekend. I also had some unpictured raw almonds (about 25). I have no idea what will be for dinner but I am thinking something light and something filled with protein and veggies. I am feeling like a healthy weekend of juices (K got a juicer!!!). I am so freakin excited. Ok sorry for the late post but I have been BUSY here at work. I will see you guys on Tuesday (if not before) and I will tell you all about my fabulous weekend. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend as well.
Tootles!

Rise and Shine, Rise and Shine!!!

This morning has turned into a giddy one! I woke up at 7:00 a.m. this morning and drug myself outta bed...I didn't want to, I wont lie...I went on a 30 minute walk, came home and did about 15 minutes of yoga and felt like a new women. I think that I am addicted to yoga now. I mean if I dont take at very least 15 minutes of yoga and get in at least 2 or three downward dogs I am a reck all day. I got ready for work in record time and headed out the door. I read a e-mail from my roomie in England it was sweet so it put me in a gooood mooood! I love it when that happens. Especially because I had to tell her that our power bill was 200 bucks! OUCH! I freaked when I opened that one. For sure. Anyway, I am fine now and when I got a nice response from her about it, it made me in a good mood. Something else that is making me have a skip in my step is that I got asked out on a date! Yes, a DATE! Best of all from a NORMAL (or so he appears) guy with a JOB (yes, I have some high standards can you tell?). Anyway, I will tell you the story of how we met but instead of wasting some good typing space I will spare you until I hang out with him for sure and know whether or not he is a figment of my imagination or in fact real. Anyway, I feel pretty darn good about this one for some reason (haven't really been on to many dates and have been single now for 6 months!). I am ready, I think...I am going into it with light expectations and really just want some company. I will keep you posted!

So what did this happy, yoggie eat for breakie this morn?
Yummy! I love oats and I LOVE fluffy oat bran. I added almond milk and blueberries this morning with a half of a naner! I think that this one was the best this week. You know that a blob of PB2 went on top (I get too excited and take the pic before I mix the pb2 together!)

I am walking to day again at lunch (weather permitted!) and hope to at very least get in about 3.5 miles at around 55 minutes. That would make me happy and feel like I am doing something. I want to start waking up every morning and walk, get in some yoga so that I can get in another walk and even more yoga later. I like to break up my exercise into about 3 sessions a day. What I need is to add in some strength training for my arms and legs. I am, I just need to take it slow and see how my bod feels. I am still not trusting myself with the weights. I know that once I get in there I will want to lift HEAVY and I just cant do that right now. I can say that swimming will be in my near future. FO SHO!

So lunch will be the last piece of salmon. Plain and simple.

Nothing to fancy but I can tell you this...It is WAY better than the McDonald's that most people stuff in their faces for lunch at the office. I actually don't even pay attention to what people eat around here. I know that our fridge at work has some pretty darn good things in there though. It makes me happy to see that the people I work with eat well. I LOVE this one lady at work (Shelly, you know I do) and she brings in the BEST fresh produce to work. I could hang out with her all day. She is the best! My walking partner.

I plan on having some raw almonds and cherries today as well but going to do my very best not to eat them together (even though I want to!!!). It is true that pairing the right foods makes all the difference as far as gas and bloat goes. Sorry, but it is true. Thanks Gena, you rock! I noticed yesterday when I ate the fruit and nuts together almost as soon as I swallowed them together my stomach started gurgling and I felt bad...Today, is experiment day...This shall work! So after a snack I will run home. Shower, yoga it up and get ready for my date. I have no earthly idea where we will be eating but I know that a salad has my name on it! I have two tickets to a wine tasting and appetizer sampler at the Athens Botanical Gardens tonight. I am going to ask him if he would like to go to that as well. We will see!!!

I found out that the nice nice nice people (poor folks that have to listen to me talk about the lack of bowels...) Are sending me another month of the colonix and also some probiotics so this should in fact help. I am thankful that they are so understanding and know that I am doing everything that I can to get the experience that I want! I mean, come on....Who wants to drink that stuff every single day and still not go. Anyway, a update as promised and I will continue so my apologies in advance for the many posts ahead that will have the word poop (or lack of) in my posts! But hey, a girl has to do what a girl has to do. I review products and well...this one just so happens to be a tender subject to some.

So I have the date time 6:30 pm. He is picking me up old school style and I am sooooo excited. I am totally going to allow him to take the drivers seat and see if he can handle it. Lets see. He seemed super nervous. All 37 years of him! That was kinda cute. I will offer the wine tasting if we cant decide where to go (hell I can get a salad anywhere). I hope it goes smooth as puddin. I know it will. I have a good feeling. (Smiling right now). I walked 3.9 miles at lunch so lets look at the grand total today for me....30 minute slow wake up walk, 15 minutes of yoga, 3.9 miles at lunch in 60 minutes and I will be running to the gym to get in 50 minutes of chest and back then home to stretch and shower for my sweetie (did I just call him sweetie?) to pick me up and go have a grand ol time. (here's to hoping!). I cant wait to tell you guys the details. You know I am not telling him about the blog, just yet anyway. I wouldn't want him to know all my secrets!

OK , back to work. I need to get my head outta these clouds people. Ciao!

Wed...Already?

Me being a goof ball!

I can not believe that it is Hump day already...I dont know where this week is going! I am not complaining though. I am taking Monday off and plan to do something fun. I want to go kayaking... That is something that I love to do every year but for the last two years haven't been able to. It should be fun. My roommate comes home on Saturday of next week so I am trying to enjoy the house to myself while I have it. I am surprised that I havent had a party or even dinner yet. I should this weekend maybe, thoughts. So this morning I woke up, did a 15 minute "yoga in your bed" session and then hoped out of bed, got ready and off to work I went. I woke up extra early because I thought that I needed to get to the house to dog sit. Turns out they were already home. I didn't mind though because that gave me time to go to the Co Op and spend money that I don't have ;)
I got some silk hazelnut soy creamer for my coffee (very decadent for me) and some PB2 which I got the local Co Op to carry now. I also picked up the brightest slice of watermelon I think that I have ever seen. I cant wait to freeze it and have it after yoga! What a treat.

So, this morning has turned out to be a lovely one. One reason why is because I got a e-mail from a SUPER nice person by the name of Trudy! Salba Corp. is going to be sending me their products...I cant wait! I am so excited, I have been eyeing them for quite some time. I am sure to love it with all the health benefits and all. Please keep up with my blog because I will be reviewing their wonderful products as soon as I try them out. If you are interested in Salba then you need to head right over to their site!
http://www.salba.info/

This morning I am still loving my new found love...Oat Bran! A banana makes all the difference in Oats! I am in love with this combo. You better believe that some PB2 went on top ; )

This pretty much fills me up until lunch. Today at lunch I will b walking with my favorite person in the office (shhhh, dont tell!). Shelly and I are walkin machines when we can. I cant wait. On average we walk 3.5-3.9 miles on our hour lunch break. It is great for me because that means that I can take advantage of mu whole lunch hour to get in a work out and I have a partner which sure beats the heck outta getting on the treadmill alone. Thanks Shelly! Your the best. When I get back to the office I will be having this combo! Baked Salmon with mushrooms and spinach and diced tomato. That is a lemon seasoning a top! This is the perfect protein/carb combo for after exercise to really give your body what you need. Later....A snack...Fresh Bing cherries and a hand full of raw almonds! YUMMY! I am in love with these jewels. Every week I think to myself "I just bought waaaaay to many I will never eat that many" and every week around Thursday I am almost out. Crazy. These babies pretty much keep my sweet tooth in check.

When I get home I will pretty much relax for about a hour or so before going to yoga. But first I will have dinner! Last night I switched it up. I looked in the fridge and say the Living Tree Tahini that I had gotten a couple weeks ago and I thought "I have got to eat this stuff before it goes bad...there must be different ways to have Tahini." Well my friends there is. I took the jar out and decided that a thick sauce was to go over my tofu stir fry. OH MY GAWD was it good! I did this. Creamy TahiniDressing/ Sauce.

-1/2 cup garbanzo bean

-4 table spoons of Tahini

-Fresh Dill (to your liking)

-Fresh Basil chopped

-1/2 squeezed lime

-/2 squeezed lemon

-water to the consistency you like (I like mine thick)

You blend this all up and what you have here is the creamiest (vegan) sauce you can think of. Add some salt and pepper and you are golden my friends! There you have about 4 servings of the best dipping, pouring, topping, side dish ever! Thanks Living Tree again. You have opened my eyes to a new world. Tahini! This was my end result! You betta believe that I made enough so that I can have a repeat tonight. This is what I LOVE about being single. A: You can have whatever you want to eat for dinner. B: You always have left overs :p

I will then go to yoga with a very happy tummy and when I get home have that beautiful slice of watermelon (sorry no pic) and get into bed with my computer and youtube like there is no tomorrow. There is something about watching exercise videos while eating that makes me laugh! SO until tomorrow....

Ok so now a Colonix review and update....
I contacted the people at Dr.Natura and a lady by the name of Korinna called. Totally nice and super healpful. Even she was talking about food pairings. I am going to try to only each fruit alone instead of with my nuts and I am going to taper it off through out the day. I will be sad to see my nightly snack of fruit gone. I am willing to do whatever she sayd because I really want this cleanse to work. I have to say that the customer service is awesome! I didnt expect to get a direct call asking me questions and pointing me in the right direction. The nice folks at Colonix will be sending me some probiotics and another months supply of the program. I am going to keep giving this product everything that I have! I must have some major gunck in there! Please go to their site to see for yourself what I am talking about. I think that if you are in the market for a cleanse this could be your product!

Barely moving

Yeah you read right...I am barely movin this morning... It was one of those mornings where you just cant get out of bed and you dont want to even think about what lies ahead of you. I mean, we all have those right? I always think the night before on Sunday that I am going to wake up super early and then get in a walk or something and every single Monday I say "it's Monday, lets ease into it." Well I THOUGHT that to myself but that is not what happened. I am house sitting this week so I pretty much had to get myself ready and out the door so that I could take the dog for a walk for the people that I am sitting for. Luckily they live in my neighborhood so it is not that big of a deal . I have been going over there about 3 times a day though and it is starting to get old. I am okay with it for a few more days though. I love it that people always ask me to house sit/ dog sit. That means that they trust me with their babies! I am a good person to house sit/doggy sit but I do take it seriously and kinda drive myself crazy a bit. It is worth it though because I NEED the extra cash. This weekend I got away with 64.00 and that was including food for two pot lucks I had to go to. So 64.00 this week for all my meals is pretty good. Lets break that down. I would say that I spend 50 dollars for my food (the other was for the pot luck that I took on Saturday and Sunday). Which means that I am eating for around 7.14 a day (5 meals) and that brings me to 1.42 each meal. Beat that if you can..
This morning I am trying out something new...I added some cherries and a half of nanner! I have never tried oat bran before but have been seeing it a lot in the blog world so I thought I would give it a try. I am in love ! I am not kidding. This is my new love! Next I will be trying oat groats! I am ready now. So after drinking a huge cup of coffee and having this lovely bowl of oats I am going to work my butt off until lunch when I am able to go for a hour long walk. I will be coming back to the office to have some much needed lunch!
Yep! It is salmon again this week. I put fresh dill and some cranberries on top this time to make it extra special! I will also have a side salad to go with this that will have bell pepper and cucumber. Fresh squeezed lemon will be my dressing.

After lunch I will be finishing up my day and will be having a bowl of cherries and 25 almonds! My favorite combo.
This combo really makes me happy. It fills me up and gets me through the last bit of my work day. When I get home it will be relaxing time (if you call walking the dog again and doing laundry relaxing) and then off to yoga (real relaxing time). Before I go to yoga though I will be eating this. Steamed tofu and veggies. Plain but good. I will be using some balsamic vinegar on top more than likely. Frozen strawberries for desert. I am really into frozen fruit right now. I didn't get any watermelon this week so it is strawberries or nothin. I am trying to do my best to be careful with the fruit this week.
I would like to review a product for you guys this morning. On Friday I got a little package that I was so excited about. The folks at Sonoma Crisps decided to send me some of thier Rasin Crunch (cinnamon flavor) my way because it is new and improved. I LOVE it when a company takes the time to allow you to review a previous product that is better now! Well I was glad to open the bag right up and taste it.

They developed the crunchy raisins snack after listening to customers who didn’t care for the squishy texture or unique taste of traditional raisins.
The sole ingredient is high-quality raisins grown in the warm sunshine of Fresno, California. Using a unique, oil-free process, we essentially “inflate” the raisins, turning them into a light and crispy snack that literally pops in your mouth.
Traditionally, most raisins have been used for baking and cooking, but Raisin Crunch can be enjoyed in a wide variety of ways…as a snack…as a salad topper…in virtually any culinary scene you can imagine. It’s a whole new concept for enjoying those world-renowned California Raisins.
Even if you’re not a big raisin fan, don’t hesitate to try Raisin Crunch. With one crunchy pop, it will change everything you’ve ever known or thought about the traditional raisin. For what you get the calories are great! I love this product and really this one is one of my favoites! I love the apple one's too. Thanks so much Sonoma Crisps! You guys are one of my favorite companies that have sent me product and I loved getting the surprise in the mail. Go to thier site and try thier products out. They are fantastic!
