Middle of the week for me, HAHAHAAHA!

Good Morning! It is Tuesday my friends which means it is really hump day for me!!! Yep, gotta love that! So sorry that I haven't been able to track my food for you all but reviews are fun to read right? Well today you will be getting a full post, complete with my plate for the day and another review. I am so ready...Are you.
first the review, you know how I roll. I contacted a company by the name of Might Leaf. I am as you know a tea lover. I love hot tea, iced tea, tea infused treats and tea flavored mints! Hell Bells! Call me what you will but I don't think I could claim to be a southerner if I didn't like my tea! Anyway, sweet tea was not what I was set out to get this time. It was some lovely 1000 Days Red Jasmine and Organic Detox teas! That my friends is exactly what I got. Oh boy did I get it!
Annelies was kind enough to send me a little bit to try so that I could review it. I tried them both out as soon as I got it and just so you know I am sipping on some Detox tea as I type this ;p
Tea is gaining more popularity in the United States, even though it is the second most popular beverage after water in the world. The world of tea is wide and vast, but you can start here by learning about the basiscs of tea. Armed with knowledge about its history, the tea plant itself, how to brew, taste and cook with tea, you will be well on you way to becoming a tea expert and lover. We invite you to discover the magic of the mighty leaf and get infused!

Here is the Organic Detox Tea!

The cleansing properties of our Organic Detox Infusion herbal tea blend relaxes the nerves, organs and membranes as dandelion targets the liver, licorice root nurtures the heart and spleen, and burdock root purifies the blood. Peppermint promotes healthy digestion and aids in soothing indigestion. Red clover and hearty herbs add anti-inflammatory qualities, calm the stomach and reduce blood sugar levels. The blend is at once warming and delicately sweet.

I loved how the minty flavor stayed with me after I sipped. A truly great tea! Now the 1000 Days Jasmine was another story all together!

Thousand Days Red Jasmine flowering tea hails from the Fujian province in China, a hand-tied white tea flower infused with the petals of jasmine. A Chinese red blossom in the center denotes fortune as the delicate notes of white Chinese tea and jasmine linger on the palate.

I seriously didn't want to even drink this! It was so pretty that I just stared at it for the full five minutes that it sat there. I AMAZING tea. The best that I can honestly say that I have ever had. I was only able to try this tea once because I only got one sample but you guys have got to try flowering teas if you are a tea lover. A conversation piece for sure. I LOVE Mighty leaf and I know that you will too. This is a fantastic company. Please go check them out at:

You will thank me! Thanks Mighty Leaf for letting me try some of your awesome tea. I LOVED them more than you know.

Now on to my eats!

This morning is a good one for me because I FINALLY got a referral for my knee so that I can go to physical therapy and get this knee healed so that I can get on with my life!

I ate a few bites of this pure bar (chocolate brownie) and out the door I went. I know what you are thinking...chocolate in the morning? Well, sometimes I am just in the mood for that. So I got to physical therapy. They pushed, pulled, poked, iced and heated. After the torture was done I left for work. I got to work had my big ol' cup of joe and this baby!

This is about 5 egg whites (a lot I know) fresh tomato and basil from the garden and a slice of light life "turkey". Awesome in my opinion. I almost felt bad eating it. I have two more slices of bread left from Meadow" Bakery and that makes me so sad. This is when I go ahead and get the carby meal out of the way. I do it first thing so that it gives me energy to get through until lunch. By adding a little extra to breakfast I have been able to cut out another meal with is saving me about 130 cals. I am on a lower calorie diet these days because I am unable to work out but you can assure yourselves that once I am back at it the cals will be going up and I will be eating "normal" again. I am just desperately trying to get through this injury with no weight gain. I can barely handle becoming flabby much less a little fat. That is another post though. So the tapering effect is what I go for. It is also a good idea to do that anyway! I try not to have any carbs (bread and such, fruit is okay to me) after 4 p.m. I am going to walk today on my lunch break but instead I will be walking outside I think. It is so nice outside right now and I want to enjoy the weather if I can in a day where it is not 105 degrees! After the hour walk I will come back to the office and have this. This is a lemon "chicken" salad. The "chicken" tenders are from lightlife and it is amazing! Love these. Three tenders is a good portion and it fills me up. I added a ton of veggies and because the chicken had so much flavor I didn't even need to add any dressing (aka mustard or salsa!). I like...
After eating lunch about a hour later that sweet tooth came back and I wanted some of natures candy! I decided to dig into the best fruit salad of my life ! I seriously made the best fruit salad. I was at the grocery store and decided to go out on a limb...I got a melon by the name of Santa Clause. I know I know I know, Santa Clause??? It is DIVINE! It is a cross between a water melon and a cantaloupe. Thanks Kroger for going out on a limb as well and getting some interesting fruit this year! Here is my love! don't pay attention to the date. My camera is not set. I want to tell you what I put in this oh so Delicious fruit salad.

-Santa Clause melon

- 1 mango

-Strawberries

- 1 peach

-figs

Oh my!
It is so goood. In fact I dont remember a summer where I have been eating this much fruit. I think that I could even become a fruitarian (wont) if I wanted to for the summer. I am telling you I am eating my weight in the stuff. I am not sure as to what I will be having for dinner but I am sure that a salad and some more fruit will be in my future. I am trying to get rid of everything in my fridge for going to the beach this weekend. I am so siked! I will be going for another walk this evening if my knee allows. I hope that you all have a great day, I know that I am. I am trying my best to turn my thoughts to positive ones and think about the full picture. I am injured and cant do the things that I love but this too shall pass. I will heal, I will run, I will dance, I will be strong and fit again. Things like this happen to athletes. All that I can do is learn and grow from it. How is that for being positive!

See you all tomorrow! Two more days to go ; )
***by the way check out this awesome give-a-way...I want it!

There is a first for everything!

This morning and this week for that matter is going to be a fast one! I am looking forward to a small vacation this weekend and I know that this week is going to fly by.

This weekend was filled with so many wonderful things. It was Athfest here in Athens and boy was it a packed one! There were tons of bands playing, drinking and shopping going on. I managed to keep myself somewhat cool and collected! That is tough to do in the Georgia heat though I tell you. I also tried out a new product that blew me away! I got a order....

From the Doctor.

Oh yes! I got a oder from Doctor Kracker that is. WOW! I was so surprised to get all these yummies in the mail! I couldnt wait to try them out and that is exactly what I did. I opened each one up and took bites and bites and well...bites! I love this product. Not one bad cracker and how they arrived to me in all one peice still amazes me.

There were so many flavors that I felt would go well with so many other things. The apple and cherry crackers went so well with peanut butter.
I like the bite size crackers. They are perfect and for 8 of them you get a nice serving with not a high calorie count. I loved the cherry semolina one!

We make good-for-you food that tastes good. Our Flatbreads and Snacker Krackers are 100% percent natural, and USDA certified organic. We bake with whole grains and seeds, and none of our crackers contain trans fats. From Pumpkin Cheddar to Seedlander, there's a seriously delicious Dr. Kracker for everyone in your family.

The Company
Dr. Kracker was founded in Dallas, Texas in 2003 by George Eckrich, Carsten Kruse, and Dr. Klaus Karg, three friends who share a passion for authentically made, delicious-tasting artisan breads. A fourth partner, Danny Kelly, is an expert in the special equipment needed to bake consistently excellent European-style Flatbreads and Snacker Krackers for our international cracker-loving customers.

In 2007, Klaus sold his interest in the company to George, Carsten, and Danny, and these original partners have enthusiastically manned the helm of Dr. Kracker as a trio ever since.

Truley a comapny that you can feel good about eating from! I love these crackers. The flat breads are AMAZING! I tried this one first and it was so filling! For 100 cals a flat bread you can not go wrong!

Look at that kracker!!! Loaded with seeds and grains. I love a product that you can SEE the good stuff. I masked up a avocado and smeared it on this one and oh my gawd was it good. Hummus is a great add on too :)
I give the Doctor a 10!!! I am going to be hooked I believe by the end of these boxes! If you have ever felt that crackers were a thing in the past as far as a good diet goes, your wrong. These are whole grain and amazing. Please go to their site and check out these. You will not be sorry that you did!

In for the Home Stretch!

Yay! We are so close to getting there! I have a week and I will be at the pool and Beck in Florida! It is totally last minute but I will be going to my uncle's wedding and I cant wait to just get out of town. This morning I woke up and had to get out the door quick if I wanted to get in a walk. My knee was super tight so I knew that the full 45 minutes wouldn't happen. 30 minutes did though :)
I got dressed and had this baby before going to physical therapy. I didn't want my stomach talking too much!
No I only had one but it was sooooo freaking good. I am so surprised at myself. When I opened the bag of dates and stuffed my first one I thought to myself, "there is no way that you will be able to just have one of these." " Now where can I hide this from myself." I didn't hide the bag or the nut butters, instead when I had one i made sure to really enjoy it and get over it. Food is not going to take over my life and I just tell myself there is always tomorrow to have one. So there! I got to Physical therapy and bit did they do a number on me. I got pulled and pushed on. Heated and Iced. It sucked I must say and I still hurt from it all but hopefully it will all settle in and I will feel my sore creaky normal self in a hour or two. After all this I came to the office and felt like if a small child walked by I would eat it! Kidding (sorta) I mean I was HANGRY!
This took care of it. Of course I had the other slice of bread and after I took the picture made anotehr batch of egg white goodness to throw on there. Smeared some Veganese on it and down it went. It was good, it was filling. French Meadow's Bakery knows what they are doing I tell you!
After a while I had to turn to another good friend. I had some Kombucha baby! Yep, made me feel MUCH better!
I drank one serving (half the bottle) and off I got to the gym. I am not walking on my lunch break but will be focusing on my chest today. I don't want to over do it because I swam yesterday. After getting back I am having a black bean burger, mustard on the side with some greens and tomato!
I have never tried a black bean burger until this week and I have to say I am impressed and I like them better than the usual Bocca Burger salad, change is good.
After the spicy yumminess it was time for my love.
The Greek gods have spoken!
After the working day is done I am going straight to the Y and train my friend Mary Anne. I will come home and have this!

A really great product! I went to the store last night and bought all these!
I will be reviewing each one as I go. I went ahead and tasted the chicken last night so that I could review today and I really had to stop myself from eating the whole pack. So good! Here is some facts!

Car Troubles and the Tingles.

Yes, you read right. A weird combo but that is what I have. My leg has a tingling sensation that goes all the way down my left leg. It feels really weird. I am hoping that it is okay. I walked for 30 minutes at 4.5 and did some ab exercises. I may have to cut out the ab exercises. I am doing exactly what my doctor says that I can do, which is 30 minutes walking and 30 minutes swimming. I can do both in a day if I want. I usually do one or the other. I am swimming today for 30 minutes. I hope that it doesn't bug my knee but we can only wait and see. The other thing that is going on is my car...Yes, it is that time of the year. Every single year around this time I have a car issue. It is the hot weather I guess. Anyway, I have to have a new starter and it is not a good thing. Having a Volvo is expensive as far as parts go. Now let me clarify! I don't have a new fancy Volvo. I have a 1992 Volvo station wagon with over 250,000 miles on it. Hey, it gets me from A to B and I must say, I love it. I guess that 300+ dollars is worth it instead of getting a new car. At any rate I am doing what I have to do...
One thing that did go in the right direction was that I finally got to have breakfast with my friend John! We usually meet really really early in the morning once a week for breakfast and coffee. We have missed the last two weeks though because he is planning his wedding and trying to cut back on his spending. He picked me up this moring to take me to work since I wasn't able to drive my car and we went to Big City Bread here in Athens to have our usual. This morning however I didn't have my usual (a biscuit and soy patty). I went for something different.

I got a bowl of fruit and some coffee. It was just what I needed. I decided that I would go light for one reason...I knew that once I had gotten to work I was going to want this!

Sprouted bread with egg whites. I did have both slices of bread and smeared veganese on the bread with some fresh basil. It was so darn good. I knew that if I had the biscuit I would want the egg Sammie so I went for the fruit this morning! Go me! After reading e-mails, doing some running around and getting awake I had a Katalyst Kombucha!
I went for the original flavor. It was awesome. I love just plain Ole kombucha! It is so tasty! It also fills me up and keeps me in a great mood. On my lunch break I am going to HOPEFULLY go pick up my car and then go back to the office to have this momma salad!
This is a black bean salad. These are two SMALL patties. They look big but they are about the size of one normal patty (just so that you know). I am swimming today after work so I have to make sure that I have the energy to get through the work out. You know that I am going to have to have something a little sweet so you know that I am having my favorite!
Greek yogurt is sooooo freaking good people. If you have never had it go get it. It is thick and the texture is so nice. Very diverse as well. It plain kinda has a sour cream taste and can be used in dips. If you add some jam or honey it becomes a sweet desert. I love this stuff and try to make it apart of my diet. Low carb and packed with protein! I am going to have a repeat of last nights dinner but with a twist. I am going to have temphe instead of tofu tonight. This is the beans and asparagus cooked!

I know you must think "gosh, she cooks her food ahead of time and then has to re warm everything up." Not so. I like to go ahead and cook it and then stick it in the fridge. For two reasons. 1: I hate getting the kitchen hot by cooking I would rather have one night where I am sweating and cooking (GA is HOT right now) and 2: I don't feel like eating hot food in the summer. In fact if I could get away with it I would just eat watermelon, strawberries and blueberries all day everyday. I wouldn't really do that though (waaaaay to active, I need some substance!) After dinner though you better believe that I am going to be having some fresh watermelon though. It is just too good right now! So sorry that my post is so boring today but I don't have any reviews and I don't have much going on besides healing and car troubles. I have to be a downer so I would rather just get on with the day and forget about my troubles. After all it is HUMP DAY! Do you have anything that you like to do in the middle of the week to get you to Friday? By the way Missy has a great give-a-way with one of my FAVORITE products! http://www.missymaintains.com/ go check her out!
also I totally forgot to tell you guys that I got this in the mail!
I tried out the Vanilla Whey powder in my smoothie day before yesterday and it was soooo good, I added strawberries, blueberries, flax seeds, young coconut water and some spinach! It was awesome and held me over for the night. Thanks JAY! See I guess you guys did get a review after all!

Wine anyone? Yes, please!!!

Review time my friends!!!
This is me as happy as can be with a FANTASTIC glass of red. I couldn't be any happier! The folks at Organic Wine Trade Company sent me over three bottles of wine and I will be doing a three part blog on each wine as I am able to try them out. So stayed tuned for the other two. Dad I would love to share one of these bottles with you if you would like! This would be a good birthday treat if I can make it down there ;)

MALBEC
Argentina
Mendoza
2007
Malbec
(95% Malbec & 5% Bonardo)
Mendoza, Argentina is a
narrow strip lining the foothills
of the Andes from Cafayate
Valley north to Patagonia
south. The grapes are grown
on vines of 90+ years in age
in a soil composite of clay and
loam. The grapes are hand
harvested at the end of march.
They are gently destemmed,
crushed and fermented for 7
days at 25˚C-28˚C.
Tasting Notes
Fairhills Malbec offers jammy, plum aromas that lead into rich, dense fruit with a touch of cherry and cranberry.
Vineyards
Fairhills Malbec is produced with handpicked Fair Trade Certified™ grapes sourced from the Mendoza, Argentina. The grapes are grown on vines 90 years in age in a soil composed of clay and loam. The region has both coastal and mountain influences and soil in this area is a mix of sandstone and granite with marl, making for an ideal terroir. The climate is cold winters and very hot summers, but the altitude creates a moderate climate.
Stuffed California Dates with an array of butters (walnut, cacao, pecan and macadamia nut butter) sprinkled with sunflower seeds and cinnamon.
I decided to go with a Dubliner Irish stout cheese and a Reserve Cheddar that has been aged for over two years.
Other pairings were Turkish Pistachio's, Gluten free party chex mix and 70% Dark Chocolate infused with sea salt. These were the perfect pairings in my mind for this wine. It truly a delight to try this wine. It was me and another person so I didn't want to have too many snacks but I have to say...The ones that I did have were p-e-r-f-e-c-t! I let the bottle breathe a bit before tasting it. When I poured my glass I leaned in to smell the aromas of the wine and was surprised....I really could smell the cherry and cranberry. A very smooth wine as well. This would be a great wine to go with cured meats I think as well. My friend that I had over is a vegetarian so I had to go with what I knew would be a hit. I asked many questions of him to see his take on it. I wrote them down as well. Peter said "This wine not only tastes great it is something that you can feel good about drinking as well". With it being fair trade and organic I had no problem with having a glass or two. "I also like that it has a screw on top! If I wanted to take this wine to a picnic it would be one less thing to worry about, I am infamous for being the wine and forgetting the cork screw." That is something that I didn't even think about and totally agree! It is nice. I asked him to rate the wine out of 10 and he said "9!" I totally agree. I would give it a 9 as well. I liked that it was light and smooth. I like a wine that could go with many different foods and this one is light enough that you can have it on it's own or with a meal. All in all a fantastic wine! I cant wait to try the others. In fact another wine that really caught my eye on the web site is OKO, that looks to be a amazing wine as well! At any rate if you are in the market for a wine that you can enjoy and feel good about please visit their site!

They have some amazing wines and I am sold! Check them out!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I hate to even break this post with my boring Tuesday routine but it is what I do!
This morning I woke up at 6:00 a.m. to go to Physical therapy and then head off to work. I did however stop by a local store here in Athens and pick up the doctor a nice cup of coffee and a fancy donut. When I got to work I had a cup of joe and uploaded my pics!
Nothing like a gooooood cup of coffee (thanks Dean's Beans!). By the time I had gotten to work and sipped on my coffee, opened e-mails and returned some phone calls my stomach was talkin to me! So I had this little baby!I had 3 egg whites on sprouted bread with fresh basil and some Romain lettuce with a touch of veganese. Delish! This bread really hold me over. I will be set until about 12:00 when I will be partaking in this combo. Weird but still really gooood! KOMBUCHA! homemade by me!!! Oh yes, you read that right. I am making it now and I have to say I am in aw of the health benefits that I am getting. Thanks to Katalyst Kombucha for sending me some of theirs I know now what to make it taste like. I had sent out e-mails trying to get some for some time and no one responded so I said what the heck...I will make my own. 14 days later! I have my first batch and it has already made a baby!!! I think that I am going to have a whole family soon. Health benefits from kombucha include:

I really want to try out other types of kombucha on the market and one that I have my eye on is Gaia's kombucha. Maybe they will send me out some samples! I also had Katalyst Kombucha's Ginger Devotion and it was amazing! The best one yet! Thanks so so so much! I had the kombucha with some hummus and a green bell pepper sliced. Sorry no picture of this. I am going to to the the gym on my lunch break and walk on the treadmill as directed and then come back to the office to have this!
A spicy black bean burger salad! I cant wait! After eating something spicy I have to have something sweet and this is my favorite go to treat! I LOVE this and I know that you have herd it a million times, but I do.

What is for dinner?

Straight from a co-workers garden! Yellow beans, asperagus and I made some garlic tofu to go with it. It is going to be goooood! I am also going to have a few slices of watermelon and then call it a night. I will be beat by 10:00 tonight since I woke up so early today. I am thinking that tomorrow is going to be a good day and with thoughts like those how could it not? I hope you enjoyed my review and thank you again Jon for being the greatest and sending me the wines! Your the best!

Why I do it to myself...I dont know!

I did it once again. I left Friday with a pile of work waiting for me Monday morning and I did somethings over the weekend which I shouldn't have in result causing me to be in pain! Ahh, Monday. It's not that I hate Monday, I just hate to leave the house Monday. This morning I woke up at 10 after 7:00 which meant no walk for me. It is just as well because I shouldn't be walking anyway. I am sore and in pain. My back is fine (well, not fine but not bad). My knee is what I want to focus on I am going to physical therapy today and that is when I am going to ask what I can do to get this healing process underway. I did the stair machine on Thursday of last week for 10 minutes and after that I have been in pain. I knocked into my knee several times over the weekend which caused it to bruise and be in worse shape. Isn't it funny when things like that happen. It seems that when you DONT want something to happen it does. Anyway, I am trying my very best to be positive and focus on the good that is going on in my life. So lets turn these thoughts around. The good is that I have physical therapy today and will be getting a ultra sound to see what the quad and knee looks like. That is exciting for me. I am going to allow myself more time to relax which means more Heather time! This is all much needed. I have also lost a bit more weight. Down this morning to 118.8. I think that it is because I am loosing muscle though. I know what it is that I need to do when I can get back at it so instead of trying to just maintain what I have I should just allow myself to heal completely and then go for it. It could be fun too. As long as I keep eating the way that I am I am in the clear I feel. There simply is nothing else that I can do anyway! So some highlights that happened over the weekend are! I mowed the grass!
Yes, I realize that mowing the grass is probably not the best thing to do for a injured back and knee but I had to do it. There is a huge festival going on next weekend so I will be too busy to do it then and the yard just couldn't wait until the weekend after that. The grass would be way too high and I would hate myself if I waited to do it then. I had to ask the nice neighbor to start the mower for me three different times! He was so nice to do it for me so that I wouldn't throw out my back. I baked him a dozen cookies. I tried several times to take them over to him but he wasn't home : (
I will try again tonight! Other things included, watching more Dr.Katz, making my first batch of ceviche, trying out Kundalini yoga for the first time, went to the pool and doing some much needed cleaning. All in all a fantastic weekend. I enjoyed myself in the air conditioned house! Karen went home Sunday morning for fathers day so I just did what I pleased during the day and enjoyed every last minute. Tonight Mary Ann from the gym will be coming over for smoothies and I cant wait to hang out with her. She is so fun! Ok back to today! This morning you better believe I was looking forward to my cup of joe and this:Another fantastic egg white sandwich with a few strawberries this held me over until lunch and I had this! French Meadow's Bakery has me sold. I am in love with the bagels and the bread. I am going to have to get me some more as soon as I run out! After breakfast I worked on e-mails and such and then my stomach started talking I had one of these til I could go to lunch. I went with the Schizandraberry and it was out of this world goooood! I love this product and this company. by the way they are so kind enough to be sending me the bottles that busted while being delivered! I cant wait to try the green lovin one. Looks so tasty. I have yet to find one that I dont like! Lunch was my homemade ceviche! Yum! I saw another blogger on here making some the other day with some freshly caught fish and I just had to make some for myself, using her recipe! I love this. I was a little afraid because it being completely raw and all but it came out fine and my belly thanked me for it too! I had a side of organic feild greens to go with this. This was a spicy version of hers. After lunch I needed to concur my sweet tooth and with what better than my love! Still on sale buy one get one free at my grocery store so I am sold! I bought enough to have one every day this week! Yay! Stoney Farms has a special place in my heart because they were the first company to send me a sample product. Thanks SF! After a long day at work and then physical therapy I went home to get ready for Mary Ann to come over. I was kinda stuck between her and I having dinner or smoothies. I chose smoothies. Not that I didn't want to cook but I want to cook her a fabulous dinner when she gets to her goal weight! I cant wait to measure her this week and see what the scale says too! She is a shrinking machine! Here is the smoothies that I am going to be making. This will be dinner for me so you know that I will be packing this full of goods! I put in.

Amazing Grass Meal (original), egg whites, acai powder, flax seeds, strawberries and blueberries! Yummy in our Tummies! I hope that she likes my version of a healthy shake. I know that she will as soon as the Acai hits her too! After she leaves I will watch the movie Milk! I rented it last night but was too tired to watch it. I plan on getting right into bed to relax and watch the movie. These will more than likely accompany me. Watermelon with chopped mint. How refreshing can you get? This is a great day as far as I am concern with food, work and hanging out. I hope that the rest of the week goes this well. I have a packed week so I am sure it will fly by! Stay tuned tomorrow because I will be having a review of a very special wine!
See ya!
