Sex and the City of Athens

Saturday night was one of the funnest nights that I have had in a long time. I have successfully watched all 6 seasons of Sex and the City. Karen came home this weekend so we decided that now would be the perfect time to watch the movie. We got all dolled up, Karen took me to my favorite restaurant and we had some great sangria and food. We even had coffee and cake. It was amazing.

This picture is a little blurry but you get the idea. This is Karen and I before going out.

Much better photo. We are so cute.

This is Karen and I at dinner. You cant see the cake because of the french press but it was there.
Overall girls night cant be compared to anything else.

Happy Friday my peeps!

This morning I woke up SOAR! I went to a Pilate's class last night that I thought wasn't doing much for me but this morning I was proven to be wrong. I kind love it when that happens! I always push myself when I am taking a class and sometimes it is just not enough. My back hurts a bit but I think that is because I tried to do some dead lifts. No more for me! That is the culprit I believe. Which is sad because it is one of my favorite exercises to do...Oh well, a girl has to do what a girl has to do. With only two real working days this week it when by super fast! This weekend I am going to hang out with some friends, get a oil change and relax if at all possible. I am hoping that Karen will be home on Saturday because the biggest thing since sliced bread is going to happen if she does...

I have officially watched all 6 seasons of Sex and the City and now I am allowed to watch the movie!!! Karen would not let me watch the movie until I watched all six seasons. I know that I am one of the last people on earth that had not watched the television show but honestly I couldn't relate to it when it came out. I was in a relationship about to get married and watching 4 single girls gab about men and their experiences while going through single hood just didn't spark any interest for me. Now is a different story. From the very first episode I was hooked. I absolutely LOVE this series. I couldn't relate more to it now. Karen would kill me if I saw the movie without her so I am just waiting here at home for her to get through with the movie that she is working on and watch the damn thing with me. We have it all planned out too. We are going to get dressed up, go to our favorite tapas restaurant (Casa Mia) eat, drink some sangria, go home with a bottle of red and crawl into her bed to watch the movie. That sounds like the PERFECT Saturday night to me! We will see if it happens this weekend though, she is a busy lady! I just want to post another picture of Kerri...She is what I would call perfect.

Seriously this is my idea of what my perfect body/hair would look like. She is so gorgeous. I only hope that I age that well. She has got to be in her ;ate 30's here and I don't think that she could look any better. Kerri I love you!

Ok, enough weirdness, lets get to business! I have a review and my food today is spectacular! Of course it is Friday so expect two drinks from me. I am going back to allowing two glasses of wine on Friday and Saturday. No drinking during the week. I am okay with that, that just makes the weekend that much better. No more beer either! I had some amazing local beers in San Fransisco and it was my treat. I have a love hate relationship with beer. I LOVE beer so much (not the cheap stuff) but I hate the way it interacts with me. It makes me a bloated mess and I swear I can have a few beers and the next day I am 5 pounds heavier. The other night someone tagged me on face book with a old picture of myself. It was so gross. I was about 20 pounds heavier and in one hand had a miller high life (gross). I looked so fat! Of course the beer in hand might of had something to do with that. I was about 22 in the picture and back then I didn't even know what a calorie was. Can you believe that? My plate for the day would consist of white cheese dip, chips, salsa, a taco salad and a pitcher of margaritas. I ate that way all the time and I wondered why I was fat...Now a days that makes my heart race just thinking about it! I am going to get through this summer feelin and lookin good if it kills me! No more dead lifts though ; )

MY breakfast was so Delicious. I had organic oats, chia, wheat bran, egg whites and some sugar free creamer (15 cals) just to sweeten it up. And if that wasn't enough I decided a melted Adora calcium disk would do the trick. Throw some raw nuts and some almond butter in there and you have yer self the best breakfast ever!

When the adore disk melted in the oats oh my was it good! This afternoon I will be eating a great restaurant and will be having this salad. Minus the nuts and the fried won tons. I will get the salad dressing on the side and use about a tablespoon of the peanut sauce. This is going to be so big that I am not going to have my scheduled snack for the day.

I love this salad. I have it all the time. In fact it is pretty much the only restaurant that I will eat at because they don't mind me being super picky and getting exactly what I want. It usually comes with noodles but I 86 those and the other yucky stuff that makes a good salad bad! I cant wait for this.

For dinner it will be the same as last night but this time I am going out and will have two vodka's and soda with fresh lime. Yum! I am thinking about it right now.

On to my review for the day! It is from a company that I have had my eye on for about a year now and I should have contacted them earlier. They were super nice and sent me over a sample of everything that they had!

This stuff you gotta try: Here is the history behind garlic!

For the last 4000 years of human history, Garlic, also known as Allium sativum, has been both cherished and reviled, both sought for its healing powers and shunned for its pungent after effects. From miracle drug to vampire repellent to offering for the gods, this unassuming plant has had an undeniably important place in many aspects of human history, and today enjoys a renewed surge in popularity as modern medicine unearths the wonders of this ancient super food.
Garlic in Antiquity
Unlike that mysterious Tupperware lurking at the back of your fridge, garlic has been employed in a variety of functions for millennia. Archaeologists have discovered clay sculptures of garlic bulbs and paintings of garlic dating about 3200 B.C. in Egyptian tombs in El Mahasna. A recently discovered Egyptian papyrus dating from 1,500 B.C. recommends garlic as a cure all for over 22 common ailments, including lack of stamina, heart disease and tumors, and it’s been said the Egyptians fed garlic to the slaves building the pyramids to increase their strength. Garlic proved itself worthy to peasant and royalty alike as Tutankhamen (Egypt’s youngest pharaoh) was sent into the afterlife with garlic at his side.
In ancient Greece and Rome, garlic enjoyed a variety of uses, from repelling scorpions to treating dog bites and bladder infections to curing leprosy and asthma. It was even left out as an offering to the Greek goddess Hecate. Early Greek military leaders fed garlic to their troops before battles to give them courage and promise victory (and perhaps in an attempt to fell the opposing army with one good whiff.) Even Greek Olympic athletes counted on garlic to stimulate performance. Ancient Transylvania, home of the vampire legend, found garlic to be an effective mosquito repellent as well as a way to ward off toothsome visitors. In the Middle Ages garlic was thought to combat the plague and was hung in braided strands across the entrances of houses to prevent evil spirits from entering. While modern day experience cannot confirm garlic’s effect on evil spirits, it has been proven that garlic, at the least, will prevent a goodnight kiss at the end of a date.
For many years, garlic was shunned by Western cultures such as Britain and America because of the residual stench it left behind. In seventeenth century England, garlic was considered unfit for ladies and anyone who wished to court them, and it was avoided in America even early into the 20th century, when famous chefs would substitute onion for it in recipes. As America experienced a huge influx of immigrants during the 19th century, however, garlic slowly gained a foothold in the American palette.
The Science of Garlic
Beyond superstition, modern research has confirmed what our ancestors believed about the health benefits of garlic. In 1858, Louis Pasteur documented that garlic kills bacteria, with one millimeter or raw garlic juice proving as effective as 60 milligrams of penicillin. During World War II, when penicillin and sulfa drugs were scarce, the British and Russian armies used diluted garlic solutions as an antiseptic to disinfect open wounds and prevent gangrene. Though not completely understood at the time, today’s research has confirmed that garlic’s healing powers stem from hundreds of volatile sulfur compounds found in the vegetable, including allicin, (which gives garlic its offensive odor), alliin, cycroalliin, and diallyldisulphide.
Garlic’s Health Benefits
The allicin in raw, crushed garlic has been shown to kill 23 types of bacteria, including salmonella and staphylococcus. Heated garlic gives off another compound, diallyldisulphide-oxide, which has been shown to lower serum cholesterol by preventing clotting in the arteries.
Vitamins in garlic, such as A, B, and C, stimulate the body to fight carcinogens and get rid of toxins, and may even aid in preventing certain types of cancer, such as stomach cancer. Garlic's sulfur compounds can regulate blood sugar metabolism, stimulate and detoxify the liver, and stimulate the blood circulation and the nervous system.
In many cultures, garlic is also considered a powerful aphrodisiac and a vegetarian alternative to Viagra. Some say it’s even able to raise a man’s sperm count. In Palestinian tradition, a groom who wears a clove of garlic in his buttonhole is guaranteed a happy wedding night.
While experts vary in opinion regarding the recommended daily amount of dietary garlic, most of them agree that fresh garlic is better than supplements. To negate the aromatic after effects of fresh garlic, herbalists recommend munching on fresh parsley (it’s more than just a garnish, folks) or fennel seed.
Public awareness about the health benefits of garlic has slowly but dramatically increased in America, aided by several landmark studies and a $176,000 grant from the FDA a few years ago. Now, garlic supplements abound and Americans are clamoring for more of the bulbous vegetable, which compliments other recently recognized “super foods,” such as olive oil and tomato sauce, so well.
Growing Garlic at Home
Growing your own garlic at home can be fun and relatively easy, even for those without a green thumb. Garlic grows from the individual cloves, with each clove producing one plant with a single bulb, which may in turn contain up to twenty cloves. Because of this, garlic is self-sustaining. Garlic’s unique fungicidal and pesticide properties can also help keep neighboring plants healthy.
Garlic typically enjoys a Mediterranean climate, but can be grown in cooler climates as well. Choose a garden site where the soil is not too damp and sunshine is abundant. Plant the cloves individually, standing upright and about an inch under the surface. Cloves should be planted about 4 inches apart, with rows about 18 inches apart. The best time to plant garlic in the USA or Europe is early spring or late fall/early winter. Although knowing when to pick garlic isn’t an exact science, a good rule of thumb is to harvest your garlic when half of the leaves around the base of the bulb are green and the other half are turning brown and dying off. Take your garlic inside right away, brush off any dirt, and store in a cool, dry place.
Although sometimes maligned, garlic has had an amazing array of nutritional and medicinal applications throughout human history, and it’s still improving the health of many today. So grab a clove and enjoy the many benefits of nature’s oldest super food: garlic.

Wow, I know a lot of info right? I thought that it was interesting enough though to post. It is on their website as well.

Last night for dinner I used some of the oil and the garlic spices. Wow! What amazing products they have. The garlic wasnt over powering at all but gave my food the perfect flavor. I LOVE garlic so I don't mind if I have to deal with the smell. This was not the case though. I am in love with the garlic sprinkles! I actually carry it with me so that I can sprinkle this on my food with having to add any sauces. This is a great idea in my book. Garlic Gold over all really is terrific! You guys really know your stuff. Thanks so much to the people at Garlic Gold for allowing me to sample their products. Please go and check them out at their web site, you'll be glad you did!

So that is going to be my Friday in review. Be ready because I tried out Barney Butter and will be back to review that. Now I know what all the raves are about.... Hope you all have a great weekend!
By the way, check out this amazing give-a-way!

See ya!

Cali and reviews!

This morning is Thursday and I am just trying to get back into the groove of things. S-l-o-w-l-y! I am trying my best anyway. The first day back at work is always the hardest. I went to the grocery store last night to pick up my food for today and tomorrow and decided to just go ahead and make my food for the weekend as well just so that I don't have to worry about it. This is going to be quite the blog today so sit back and relax. I have a lot to tell you about my trip and I would like to go ahead and do two reviews on two totally different items! First though....My beloved oats! On my trip I had a better breakfast than I do normally here! I was so prepared. I brought with me my usual. Organic oats, chia, wheat bran and egg whites (well I didnt bring those on the plane but bought them when I got into town). I had one table spoon of peanut butter and some fresh organic cherries. It was Divine! So I am doing a repeat this morning as well! I also had a great wheat grass shot this morning to get me going as well! I am thinking that wheat grass is going to be a daily part of my day. Amazing grass is a great company if you are looking for some really good wheat grass. I love how you can take it on the go too! I even got my sister hooked! Everyday we would go and get wheat grass shots while we were shopping and right before we left I took her to the health food store to pick up her very own can of wheat grass form Amazing grass. It is truely amazing!

My first review is on something that I didnt expect to be so cool! I was on-line and looking around at organic fair trade clothing and I just stubbled across this site!

www.BanT-shirts.com

check out this website! Political T-shirts with progressive messages. You'll love our original and thought-provoking range of political t-shirts and apparel. Shirts designed with issues of the day in mind: the environment, democracy, freedom, war and peace. All our t-shirts are made sweat shop free in the USA. Many are also made of organic cotton. The guy that runs this thing knows what he is doing for sure. These shirts are amazing. I was able to pick mine out and I picked this one!

The screen printing method delivers a high quality T-shirt. Our T-shirt designs are screen printed onto 100% cotton shirts, a process whereby each color is printed separately onto the garment - we don't use transfers like some t-shirt sites. Click here to read more about the quality of our garments and to see some close-up photos of the prints, stitching and fabric. All our stock (except for a few reduced items) is guaranteed SWEAT SHOP FREE and is MADE IN THE USA - so check out the site, have a chuckle and get yourself something to irritate the right-wing neighbours!
Liberal T-shirts with a message. At Ban T-Shirts we rack our brains to bring you the coolest left-wing T-shirts and most radical political T-shirts on the Internet. We make political apparel that appeals to progressive, liberal, open-minded individuals. Buy one of our T-shirts today and help spread the word.
If you consider yourself a democrat, socialist, liberal or progressive you'll love Ban T-shirts.

Did you know that 25% of the world's insecticides and 10% of pesticides are used in the production of cotton? That's a lot. These chemicals infiltrate the food chain, irritate our skin and degrade the environment. By going organic you are making a commitment to a cleaner, healthier world.

I just love this shirt. It is SO comfy and is the perfect fit. I got the shirt almost as soon as I got the reply that it was on it's way. Way to go! Seriously, if you are looking for some clothing that you can feel good about this is the shop for you. BE different, speak your mind and why not with a organic, fair trade shirt that says it all for you. I give this website a 10!!! Thanks so very much Duncan you were great to send this my way. I am wearing my shirt proudly!

For lunch it is going to be a tuna salad with a handful of raw almonds. Yum! I am going nutty these days for sure. I put them away from my reach though so that I couldn't munch on them all day. I made my tuna salad with celery and veganese! I love that stuff, you get the creamy taste without the dairy! I am trying my very best to cut out all dairy if at all possible. The only thing that is holding me back is my greek yogurt or fat free cottage cheese. I am getting closer to a dairy free life style though. If the greek yogurt wasnt buy one get one free I would have a completely dairy free diet this week. Next week...It's on! So I also decided that I would CHALLENGE myself this week and next week. I want two full weeks of a completely raw dinner. I am going to start out with having dinner raw and then totally go raw after for a while. Summer time it is just so very easy to do it because it is so hot and I dont feel like having hot food. I have already made a completely raw dinner for the week and it came out amazing! I am going to try out the raw oatmeal after these two weeks are over and make a huge batch of ceviche (my fav) for my salads for lunch. This is what my dinner will be for the rest of this week. Yum!

I chopped up two full blocks of tofu, two cucumbers, tomatoes, green bell peppers, red onion and some cilantro. Let this all hang out together and what you get is a pretty amazing stir-fry like dish! Now, tell me this doesn't look good. This is what "my food for the week" looks like. I usually make a huge batch of something like this and eat it for dinner all week. This is why I like being a vegetarian, you dont have to worry so much about the tofu going bad! This is fantastic and completely raw. I will change it up from day to day. Sometime having it with a bed of spinach or some Quinoa. This week though I will have it with a side of fresh raw beets soaked in balsamic vinegar, topped with fresh avocado and soy beans. I love the way the purple goes with the green. So pretty! So there you have it. I am set. This is not the a real picture (I found on on-line) but you get the idea. It is so hard to take pictures of everything!!! I wish that I had a I-phone. That would be awesome. This dinner will fill me up and give me the vitamins that I need. The thing with eating raw though is that you really need to chew your food well. Last night I had the raw beets and my stomach felt like it was working over time to digest it. I will be sure to have less tonight and chew very well. I love beets so very much. For my snack tonight it will be either some fresh watermelon and strawberries or some greek yogurt or both depending on how I feel!

On to review number two! I was so happy to of gotten this because it was perfect for my trip.

Pam from:

http://www.organoderm.com/

sent me over a sample set of their amazing organic face products. I used them all during my trip and I have got to say, I am in love.

Doctor Edward Jonas Domanskis a practicing plastic surgeon in Newport Beach, California has worked on the research and development of the Organoderm Skin Care products for over ten years.
Not only was the product line formulated with naturally bio-active and organic ingredients with the consumer’s skin health top priority, but the packaging was developed with recyclable components with our own Free Consumer Recycling Program on this web site. The absence of excessive and deceptive paper cartons and inserts is to raise awareness through conscious consumption. This not only helps protect our environment with less trees destroyed, it raises planet conservation responsibility in the minds of all consumers to reduce waste and diminish our landfills.
Organoderm products are in larger sized offerings than the traditional skin care products now on the market to reduce our carbon footprint with less containers in the environment and offer more quality product at an overall less expensive price per ounce to the consumer without impacting efficacy. The Younger Eye Gel, Green Energy Serum and Environmental Protection Day Lotion are twice the size of higher end brands.
Additionally, ingredients selected are harvested in a manner to protect our delicate eco-system, to preserve and sustain natural botanical sources and the surrounding fawn and flora. As a doctor, the amount of harmful chemicals used in skin care was a driving force to present to consumers a line that was composed of the safest and highest nutritional ingredients for skins of all ages and conditions.
Organoderm is the first plastic surgeon developed and recommended product group to contain certified organic USDA products and natural bio-active/certified ingredient formulations.
All products certified by the Circle of Green are identified as earth/environment/skin friendly.Organoderm also contributes a percentage of all products to Breast Cancer Research in memory of Dr. Domanskis’ grandmother who died from breast cancer and in support of the fight his mother-in-law is now waging against the disease.

I absolutely love these products. If you are in the market for a really really great regiment than this is the site for you. Try them out and you will never go back. This is some of the items that I got!
The Nutrient Night Cream, Olive Cucumber and Watercress Light Moisturizer, Younger Eye Gel, Environmental Protection Day Lotion SPF 30+, Olive Cucumber and Watercress Fresh Foaming Cleanser and a few others. All in a cute bag with the perfect size so that I could take it on my trip. This was like going to a spa and getting the full treatment. I am giving them 4 stars!!! Thanks Pam so much your the best and I am going to be a customer from here on out! So there you have it! My two reviews and some more of my meals! Stay tuned in because I will have a review for Garlic gold products and Barney Butter (I have been waiting on this one for ever!!!). I am so happy that I got in these two products and when I try them (more than likely tonight or tomorrow) I will be reviewing them for you. I just love my blog and getting new things to try and then reviewing them on here. So far I have gotten tons of great products that I know I will be addicted too! In the mean time. Sit back relax and lets welcome this weekend. I sure hope the weather is nice, I am ready to go to the pool! See ya!

Back from my trip!

So I am back!!!!
I have to say that going on this trip was one of the best things that I have ever done. I got some great pictures and even better memories! I am on the left. This was our first trip together just as sisters. It was awesome and we had so much fun. Maybe even a little to much fun...is that possible?

Us in the headlands. What a gorgeous place.

The Make Out Room. We danced our butts off!

Dinner with drink in my hand. We ate at this VERY fancy fantastic restaurant called the Millennium. It is vegetarian and vegan. Amazing!

Me on the left and Sonja on right. I love this picture because you can seriously see how much fun we are having. Just being together. I have so many things waiting to be reviewed and I will be getting started doing so some time either Friday or Monday. I need to get settled back in. Just wait though! It is going to be good. I just couldnt wait to blog about my trip so this is a little taste. I missed you all!

Last day before V-a-c-a-t-i-o-n!!!

I want to start today's post with last nights dinner. I had a couple of reviews yesterday and I didn't want to over do it with posting all of my meals but you will be getting my meals and a review today! Yeah.

MY friend Jason picked me up at my house at 5:30 and took me to Harry Bissetts. A New Orleans style restaurant and we had these! Oysters! Why do oysters seem magical to me? I love them, we went to dinner on Saturday night before my show at Casa Mia (my fave restaurant here in Athens) where I had the ceviche (my absolute favorite) and a margarita. While we were eating he asked if I like oysters and I said "yes!". So he then said "well, we have got to go to Bissetts for oysters they are but one get one free from 5:00-7:00." So we made plans to have them last night and it was fantastic. I actually ate 2 of these plates myself! Yum. I had a drink to go along with it but didn't get a picture if it. I love raw foods, I don't know why but I do!

Today is the last day of work, exercise, blogging and the last day that I will be Georgia (for a week anyway)! I am going to San Francisco tomorrow morning and I cant wait, I am so ready to get outta here! I cant wait to relax and just get to know my sister even better. Do you have a family member that you would like to get to know better? I am setting out every year to pick one person in my family and get to know them a little better and on a deeper level. I think that it is important. I know that it is for me because I have a tiny family. It consists of like 8 people and I want to be able to say that I truly feel like i know who they are and what they are about. This year, it's Sonja. She and I are identical twins. We have been pushed up against each other our whole lives. Until She moved out in 99' we pretty much hated each other. It was hard living together, going to school together, having the same friends together and sharing just about everything else together. Once she moved out (funny that my younger sister (only by a minute!) moved out first). Once she left it was like a whole another person. We grew very close and in fact I decided to move where she did (Athens) to be even closer. Of course I would never live with her again but I do enjoy my time with her. After all we are the same!
This is a picture of my twin sister, Sonja!

I look even more like her now because of my new hair. She is a hair dresser (and a bartender). She just recently cut my hair and colored it just like what you see here in this picture. This is a picture below of me!

You guys don't get to see me often so here you go! My hair looks SO much better but at least you get the idea. This was taken in front of the shack I use to live in. You can read about it in later posts. Look at that stance! HA!
So this morning I had my oats and in fact I plan to have them even in SF! I have already packed my oats, wheat grass, chia, acai tablets and some meal to go bars. I am ready! This oaty goodness has all of my favorites!

Raspberries, granola, soy milk (light) cottage cheese, egg whites and chia! Now that will fill me up for a long time (3 hours usually before my next meal). I am also going to eat this guy!

There is two things that if a man wants to get to a girls heart he will buy....1: AVOCADO and 2: MANGO'S.

Period.

I am a mango freak in the summer and a pomegranate freak in the winter. Between these two fruits I would be just fine if I had no other options. I had to eat this mango this morning because it was perfectly ripe and I didn't want it to go to waste. I LOVE LOVE LOVE fresh mango. It makes my whole day better when I have one! I also had a shot of wheat grass (amazing grass's wheat grass as a matter a fact!) along with this fruit filled breakfast!

I am even taking wheat grass powder so that I can have a shot in the morning when I go on my trip as well. A wheat grass shot and my morning oat meal is a powerful duo!

After my e-mails, and getting settled into my day a bit I will go to the gym. Today is shoulders and some light abs and leg work. Then when I get back I will have this.

I plan on really pushing it in the gym today so I am going to have a black sesame tofu stir fry and some brown rice to get me through the rest of the day. I am so happy to be eating brown rice again. I get sick of eating some things and I put them down. It is so fun to rediscover a food again! For dinner I am going raw again! Tuna it will be!

I got some great sushi grade tuna and will be pairing it with Squid and fresh ginger, this is SO good! I love wasabi too!

I don't know what my late night snack will be but something tells me that it could be a quick chia pudding. I am recording tonight and will also be packing and getting ready to get up at 6:00 A.M. to get in the car and get going. I have not figured out how I am getting home yet. I do need to get on that!

Ok, now to the goods! I have a review for you!!! Just one today! I am really happy to say this about what I got in the mail yesterday. It looked like a really thick letter (made me worry at first) but when I opened it it was this!

I have decided to branch out! I usually only review food but I decided that there are so many other wonderful products out there! I am venturing into the world of organic clothing and skin care products !I am proud to say....I love this pair of underware. I know that it may be a little weird reviewing underware but hey, we all wear em! This organic cotton pink bikini style panty is great. Light weight, great color and feels so nice. I am going to be ordering more for sure. This clothing line I am sure from Grentchen and Grace is great. They have everything from sports wear to underware. It is truly a great site! Thanks so much Darcy for not only sending me a great pair of underware but a coupon for free shipping on my next order! Darcy is so great she even is allowing my readers to get free shipping as well!!! All you have to do is type in the dicount code, the word "thanks" at checkout. This is so sweet of them! Offer expires 6/30/2009 so go to the site now!

Their website is:
www.GretchenandGrace.com

PLEASE look at the site, they will have something you like I am sure! You guys get 4 stars from me!!!

All in all a great Thursday so far. If I get to 2:00 p.m. I feel like I have made it. When I get off work it will be recording and packing. I plan on getting into bed quite early. I have told Beth that I have got to be on the road by 7:30. My plan for in the morning is:
6:30-wake, shower, dress
7:00-smoothie time and put into freezer to chill
7:15-go over check list and put bags into car
7:30-talk and get excited about being on a plan in a few hours. Dreaming of the orange juice and vodka drink I plan to have while chatting with my sis.
I hope that my roommates wont miss me too much. I do plan on doing one very important thing when I get back and that is watch the movie Sex and the City. YOu are correct. I am FINISHED with all the seasons. I am now ready for the movie. However, Karen would absolutely kill me if I saw it without her. At least I have something to look forward to when I get back. That and working out again. God, I cant wait to sweat!!!!!! I mean I have never wanted to do cardio so bad in my life. A walk may happen for me but may not. I dont want to push it.

Well until then....
Peace!
I will have some great pictures when I get back!
-Heather :)

For the majority of people, consuming processed foods along with stresses of every day life create an acidic balance in the blood. This causes the body to store water and build up fat in the arteries (cholesterol) as protection from acidic blood.
By restoring alkalinity and neutralizing acid production your body can recover quicker, metabolize faster, reduce food cravings and achieve your optimal health. Click pH levelto review the chart. Wheat grass is believed to have many unexplained natural healing qualities. Many of the phytonutrients (plant nutrients) contained in cereal grasses have yet to be identified and it is not completely known how they provide such great benefits to our health. We do know that cereal grasses contain large amounts of chlorophyll (the “blood” of plants), which is amazingly similar to hemoglobin, the molecule that carries oxygen in the blood.
See Chart. Chlorophyll is soluble in fat particles, and since fat particles are absorbed directly in to the blood via the lymphatic system, there is evidence that chlorophyll can also be absorbed easily in this way. Essentially the “blood” of plants is easily absorbed into human blood, which transports nutrients efficiently to every cell of the body. This explains why chlorophyll is so readily assimilated into our blood stream and our bodies are able to utilize its powerful properties. With the addition of Chlorophyll into our diet, we are consuming the very essence of life’s energy. Essentially the “blood” of plants is absorbed into human blood, which transports nutrients to every cell of the body

Our Difference
Not all cereal grasses are created equal. Tray grown wheatgrass juice you find in most juice, smoothie or grocery stores is different from field grown dehydrated wheat grass. In fact, most field grown cereal grasses are different from Amazing Grass.
Check out a comparison of tray grown wheatgrass juice to Amazing Grass whole-leaf dehydrated wheat grass powder.
Amazing Grass is field grown through winter and harvested just once a year. Other grasses are grown in warm climates and cut 7 or more times a year, which results in decreased nutrients.

Why is Amazing Grass different?

Because it is grown in THE BEST soil for growing cereal grasses. Just as oranges grow best in Florida and California, cereal grasses grow best in the Midwest. Soil scientists have known for years that the central plains of the Midwest have some of the most fertile soils in the world. In fact, most of the production for wheat and other cereal grains come from the Midwest. Cereal Grasses planted in the fall and grown through the cold winter are nutritionally superior to crops grown elsewhere because the grass develops a huge root structure that acts as a sponge to absorb nutrients in the mineral-rich soil.Amazing Grass is certified organic and we don’t use herbicides or pesticides. Our belief of putting back more into the soil than we take out ensures the most nutrient-rich cereal grasses you can get. Amazing Grass includes organic (red hard winter) wheat grass, organic barley grass, organic alfalfa, organic oat grass and organic rye grass. All grasses grow longer and cost more to produce, but the quality, superior nutrition and resulting health benefits are definitely worth it. Our proprietary harvesting procedures and safeguards ensures the lowest plate counts, coliforms, yeast and mold counts available with no irradiation.

Two down, Two to go.

This morning I feel well rested! I am just wanting to glide right into Friday. I think that it is possible if I continue to keep thinking in this way. I woke up this morning got ready and while doing so I was thinking. I was thinking about life. Just life in general. How we have to wake up, do the same Ole' same Ole'....thing. I look forward to this weekend because the beginning of next week wont be the same. V-a-c-a-t-i-o-n time! I am going to be in San Fransisco. My favorite city in the U.S. I am so excited to be going back so soon. I was just there only two months a go. I am in love with this place. I got some pretty darn cool things in the mail that I am going to tell you about later. One was a complete surprise. I am trying to get some of my reviews done with before I go on my trip. I will be gone for a whole week and no blogging is not in the agenda. I feel like I have been reviewing so much that I haven't been able to talk much about what is going on in my life. Well a lot is! I will just have to fill you in as I go and in between reviews~!
This mornings breakfast had to be warm...It was actually chilly this morning. I absolutely hated having to try and find a long sleeved shirt and slacks to wear. Oh well, my oats do it for me every time. Even on vacation I will be bringing my oats.
This oatmeal tasted just as good as it looks. It was warm goodness! I added some wheat bran, pine nuts, almonds and cinnamon to make it extra tasty. I was full for hours. Even in the summer I will be able to have a breakfast like this because I have seen some really incredible raw oatmeal recipes on-line and really want to try one. I decided that I would soak the wheat bran first for an hour to make softer. It worked rather well. After breakfast and getting into my day I decided that Green Tea was just not enough. A coffee drink was in need. I needed some more caffeine this morning and the Green Tea that is here is Decaf. What is up with that!?! I had a lovely cup of Joe and it hit the spot.

My coffee looked foreign when I got it...

What is all that on the side? I did have some soy milk, extra shot of espresso and sugar free vanilla flavor. It was great. There are some days where coffee is not a top priority but I have to say these days, it happens more than I would like to admit. I figure though that if coffee is my worst habit than so be it. That is the least of my worries.

This morning I would like to review a product that came to me as a complete surprise! I love it when that happens, I tried this out the moment I got it. Well...mainly because it had something to do with CHOCOLATE!!!

A History of Great Taste
To get to the heart of why Adora Calcium supplements taste so great, look no further than their sweet history. While other calcium supplements are produced by pharmaceutical companies specializing in everything from bandages to baby powder, Adora Calcium is made by a small chocolate manufacturer that has been producing quality chocolate products for 130 years.
Meet Thompson Brands
In 1879 William Thompson, one of the early innovators in the American chocolate industry, founded W.H. Thompson Confectionery in Meriden, Connecticut. As consumer demand for more healthful chocolate products grew, the business branched into three distinct product lines under the name Thompson Brands:
Thompson Candy / Chocolate – continuing the age old tradition by offering a full line of premium chocolate novelties including chocolate bunnies, candy coins, and chocolate cigars. For more info visit: www.thompsoncandy.com
Thompson Organics – catering to environmentally-conscious and health-minded consumers with rich, organic chocolates that are high in cacao. Purchase the popular 70% Cacao Dark Chocolate Bar here. For more info visit www.thompsonorganics.com
Adora Calcium – combining calcium and vitamins with premium chocolate to change calcium supplementation from just palatable to truly pleasurable. Buy Adora Calcium online.

This tells you the history and gives you links to their website. I am new to the whole review thing so I am trying my best now to give you all the info that you may need about the product. Beth and I tried these out and it was awesome. I loved the idea of healthy chocolate and all the calcium that I was getting. I give this product a 10!

I also think that this was a really good article about women my age and how much calcium I should be getting.

Check this out!

Women 20-30 Years Old
Calcium Requirements for Adults Ages 19-30 = 1000 mg calcium per day
The twenties are an exciting time of independence and maturity. This phase of life also represents the beginning of the child-bearing years for many women. Pregnancy brings about a whole new level of wonderful and amazing changes to a woman’s body, each with its own challenges.
Building Bone - Slow and Steady As a woman in your twenties, you have already built the majority of your bone mass. However, you will continue to slowly build bone mass over the next decade. While this increase in bone density occurs much more slowly than it did during your teen years, it is still important to be steadfast in practicing healthy bone habits.
Bone Basics
Continuing to participate in regular weight-bearing exercises and getting plenty of vitamins and minerals such as vitamin D and calcium, helps strengthen bones naturally and will reduce the risk of bone-related problems such as osteoporosis later in life. Exercises to consider include walking, running, stair-climbing, weight lifting, and even dancing.
Health Challenges of a Twenty-SomethingYour twenties are full of activity and lots of new responsibilities. Life tends to get a bit more complicated with career, family, friend, and community obligations. In addition, as a woman you may be faced with the following health challenges:
PMS (Premenstrual Syndrome) – the pain and discomfort of PMS is very real and often includes menstrual cramps.
Pregnancy – having a “baby on board” is a beautiful thing, but it requires extra care in what you eat. If you don’t get enough calcium throughout pregnancy, your growing baby will get what it needs from your bone stores, leaving you at risk for the porous, brittle bones of osteoporosis.
Chronic Dieting – many young women are constantly on a diet. This can be dangerous for bone health. Being thin is a risk factor for osteoporosis. In addition, counting calories makes it very difficult to meet nutrient needs, especially calcium. If you feel you must diet, make sure to take a multi-vitamin along with an additional calcium supplement, like Adora Calcium so that your bones will be protected.
Drinking Alcohol & Smoking – being 21 and over means you can legally go to clubs where drinking alcohol and smoking are common place. Both habits can lead to bone loss, so practicing moderation and avoiding smoking are the healthiest options.
All in all this is a fantastic product! I loved it. Go and get some!
The nice folks at ADORA as a additional bonus for my readers they have added a special onnline discount code-----"afriend" Use this code when buying and you will recieve $4 off their order. store.adoraCalcium.com
