Hey there!!!
After my french toast craziness I went all out. I got something really great in the mail and YOU will be getting something even greater if you win my give-a-way!!! Oh yes, I am giving a way this sweet package! WHOA WHOA WHOA....What am I doing??? I am getting WAY ahead of myself. Let's back up!
OK...I am fine.
I got a package in the mail the other day that had a bag of Gluten Free Waffle Mix!!! It came from Namaste Foods!
Who are they? Well, I will tell ya!
They are a small (but growing!) manufacturer of fine foods that contain no wheat, gluten, corn, soy, potato, dairy, casein or nuts. In business since 2000, they continue to strive to be the best at what we do so that you can enjoy all the foods you’ve known and loved all your life. They truly believe Namaste Foods products are the best-tasting allergen-free products on the market! (Be sure to check out their new Pasta Meals in three delicious varieties!)
Their approach has always been very "grassroots" in nature. While they do limited advertising, they have always relied much more on all the wonderful word-of-mouth advertising our customers continue to do for us. It’s the biggest compliment anyone can give us and we appreciate it more than you know.
So, what do they offer you in return for all you do for us? Well, four things come to mind:
Worry-free products – Their facility contains no wheat, gluten, corn, soy, potato, dairy or nuts. It is their attempt to try to eliminate any chance of cross-contamination so you can enjoy Namaste Foods products worry-free.
A better value – They know that gluten-free products are expensive. In an effort to make them more affordable for you, they try to give you more for your money. You will find that most Namaste Foods mixes have a significantly higher yield than our competitors’. For instance, all their cake mixes make TWO rounds as opposed to one. (Who ever heard of a one-layer birthday cake anyway?!)
You deserve the best – in customer service. So, they invite and welcome your questions and comments about anything that is important to you. If you contact them, they promise to get back to you promptly and offer you outstanding customer service. In addition, your suggestions for new products are always welcome so we know what to be working on next!
Truly delicious food! - That goes without saying yet bears repeating. They work diligently to try to offer you products that make your mouth water and your face smile!
This company really does what they say! I got this in the mail:
Which Became this:
Which ended up like this:
I have never had a fluffier pancake and to think that it was Gluten Free blew me away!!! I give them a 10! Loved. Every. Bite.
So what does Namaste mean?
Many people ask us what the term "Namaste" means. We will do our best to explain it here.
The word "Namaste" (pronounced "Naa-Maa-Stay") is an ancient Sanskrit word with no literal translation. After many hours reviewing all the different translations, we decided we like this one the best.
"The Spirit within me honors and respects the Spirit within you."
The word "Spirit" in this context has no particular religious connotation. You could substitute the word "Heart" or "Soul" if you like. The essence of the phrase is simply that the best part of me wishes you well. And we do wish you well. In seeking to offer you delicious allergen-free foods, we nourish the body. In nourishing the body, we hope to help nourish the mind and the spirit so you can enjoy optimum health.
Go to their site and check them out for yourself!!!

In fact, if you want to win the give-a-way you have to ;)
The rules of the prize. You have to do two things! Only two my friends! You have to go to their site and tell me which product looks the best to you and you either have to facebook, tweet or link my blog! That is it! If you don't do facebook, tweeter or have a blog yourself that you can link me (who are you and why are you on the Internet???) then you can tell me your favorite Gluten Free Recipe! I will announce the winner on FRIDAY so get them in there!
So there you have it. A chance to win the best Gluten Free Mixes that I have ever tried. I give them two thumbs up and I am so very glad that Sally was so sweet to send me this package. Great customer service and a GREAT product. Try them out, you wont be sorry you did!
Ok now I will start answering some of the "Ask me anything" questions...I have to say. Some of them are interesting ;)
I figure that I would answer a few a day!
1)How long have you been working out and are you a morning work outer?
I have been working out "hardcore" now (meaning twice a day everyday with a day off occasionally) for almost three years. I "started" working out for the first time EVER at the age of 23. I got engaged and I wanted to look my best. I will admit. I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. Exercise wise and diet wise. My first approach was "I workout so that I can eat what I want." It worked for a little while but then I still wasn't happy with my body for the amount of effort I was putting into my workouts. I started to watch what I ate and stopped drinking beer altogether. For my wedding day I looked the best that I ever looked in my life. Well, less than two years later I was divorced and pissed. (Sorry, you asked). After the divorce I literally layed around ate tons of food and drank my weight in margaritas. I got fat. I mean it, FAT. After about a year and a half I decided that enough was enough and I changed everything I knew. I did RESEARCH and when I say research I mean I was obsessed. I read and read and read. I tried out everything from counting my macros to every type of exercise routine you can think of. I was a calorie counting machine. I got down to my "feel good weight" and I was really paying attention to everything that I ate. Two years later and now I am maintaining. I am not perfect and I still have some slip up's from time to time but overall I am a intuitive eater. I don't workout in the mornings. I utilize my lunch break and finish what I didn't get done after work. I usually lift weights during the week M-W-F during lunch and then do some sort of cardio after work. T-TH-ST I do the opposite and do cardio during the day and then some low key cardio like walking in the evening. I always listen to my body and when I need a rest I allow it.
2) Do you have a boyfriend? Nope.
3) Where did you grow up? I grew up in WR, GA!
Ok folks! Keep those questions commin!
See you tomorrow!
Namaste.
