Sunday is review day!

So this Sunday I have decided that instead of waiting until tomorrow and having to load up all the pictures of my food for the week and THREE reviews I would just take the time to go ahead and review the items that I received and tried over the weekend! So no tracking today and no pictures of my food (kinda boring today food wise anyway...) I got some amazing products in the mail just as I was about to leave Athens for mothers day I go the packages. What great timing.

The First Product that I would like to review is Wild Bar! This was my first raw food bar and I was in for a real treat. When I left to go to Warner Robins I was in such a hurry to get on the road before 5:00 traffic. I decided that this bar would be the perfect snack to hold me over until I go there for dinner. I actually took both the Mint and Mayan Spice and headed out the door. I got a cooler threw in some soda's, Wild bars and some water and off I went. About an hour into the drive I pulled out my first bar. The Mayan spice and opened it. It was cold from being in the cooler and it felt so good to eat it on such a warm day. This thing made me feel like I was having a really good desert. It wasn't too sweet but with the raw cocoa it definitely was a treat. Huge chunks of nuts and blue green algae. It was truly amazing I was so sad when it was gone. The next day I tried the mint and it tasted just like a girl scout cookie thin mint. I have to say...I am not sure if you are supposed to refrigerate these bars but when you do it is so great! I just by accident put mine in the cooler and boy was I glad that I did. I am hooked now.... I am going to order a box as soon as I get paid for sure. I also got a sample of the blue green algae and I am in the best spirits. I am full of energy! Thanks so very much for sending me a sample of your bars you just gained another customer.

Up next is a few products from a company that I have never herd of before but herd of them via the Internet and was pretty floored by what they sent me. Introducing. ...

This company has a fantastic catalog. I got the booklet with two products that they sent my way...

I got some raw cocoa nibs!!!!

This is something that I have always wanted to try but to honest I just didnt know if it was worth the money. Eating healthy is so expensive and it is such a shame I tell you. I hate it that it costs so little to eat crap. Ok, sorry. Back to what I was saying. I got raw cocoa nibs and added these to my smoothie this morning for a raw chocolaty smoothie and MY GOD was it good. I am not kidding when I say this but when I was drinking the smoothie with the nibs in it I felt like there was something magical going on. I just love the thought of all the antioxidants and all the good things that come from this product.

The other product that I got was dried Kale. When I got the bag of it I just stood there and looked at it. "Kale chips??!?" I said to myself. I didn't even know such a thing existed. I was blown away by the idea of being able to have my greens anywhere at anytime. I was thinking "wow, this could b great for my trip to San Fransisco next week." I can still get in my greens for the day and be on a plane at the same time!!! I tried these bad boys out and gee whiz (yes, I just said gee whiz). They tasted oddly enough....GREAT! I love the texture of this item. The great thing about these are that you can eat them alone or you can sprinkle them on dishes if you like as well. I had some tofu stir fry last night and decided to sprinkle some on top of it at the last minute and it made my meal complete! Thanks Natural Zing for the cocoa and kale you just made my weekend!

Dont be discouraged when you see the kale. It looks so different than the leafy greens that you see in the store. This had sea salt and it tasted so good alone or sprinkled on top of dishes. This could be the new potato chip!

Last but CERTAINLY not least is a product review for something that I thought would never work out.

Sonoma Crisps have come up with a way to make a crispy version of dried fruit that truly has a ton of flavor packed in each bite. You and I both know that dried fruit is great, we both know that it is something that goes great with so many things. The thing is that without it being sweetened some how it is just kinda bland. Have you ever had a banana chip that was completely in it's natural form without any added sweeteners? I have and it was totally bland. The other day I went and bought some unsweetened banana chips and when I got home to try them I could barely eat a hand full. It just didnt have any taste really. The thing is though that I didnt want the added sweeteners. I wanted a dried banana that was actually good for me and tasted good too. Well. I have to say I am so glad that they sent me their product because I was just about to give up on dried fruits. I received three small bags of crisps, Red Apple, Pear and Golden Delicious Apple. I tried the red apple first. I opened the bag and as soon as I did I could smell the apple flavor jumping out of the bag. I grabbed a finger like apple crisp and chomped on it. Mmmmmm. I thought. Now this is very flavorful. I immediately turned the bag over to look and see if there was any added flavors or sugar and to my surprise there were three ingredients. Apples, fructose and calcium Ascorbate (a blend of calcium and Vitamin c). Wow! Yes! finally I found a dried fruit that wasnt packed with all sorts of words that I couldnt pronounce! This really is a great company. I have tried all three and I love all of them the same. I thought for sure that there would be one out of the bunch that I wouldnt like and sure enough they all were awesome! Thanks so much Sonoma you guys rock! I am sorry to tell you but I think my whole family is won over too ;0

So this concludes my Sunday weekend in review. I am so glad that I was able to try out some great stuff and keep reading because I am going to have more things reviewing this week. I have some acai products that should be arriving any day now and I am siked about seeing what the fuss is about as far as super foods go! Thanks to all company's, Sonoma Crisps, Natural Zing and Wild Bars for letting me review your products. Keep up the great work!!!
