Long weekend, short week.

Just the way I like it! I love a holiday but it always seems that I have to make up for being off an extra day when I get back. Whew! It was a great weekend. I will try to re cap what I can.

Friday was amazing, I went to Orange Twin to see a few bands and the hilarious Neil Hamburger. This is what this fellow looks like:As you can tell....A very funny guy. Just look at him! I also saw this band on Friday.

Vic Chestnut, very very good. I loved it. I was out in the woods, it was breezy and just gorgeous out. It kept feeling like it was just about to rain so as you can imagine...there was a ton of electricity in the air. It was pretty darn magical. I stayed for the whole show which meant I got home around 3 a.m. That is so unlike myself. I gladly did it though.

I knew that I needed to take good care of myself this weekend so I pretty much loaded up on really good food and really good coffee ;)

Sleeping in every day also helped.

I had to get some rest because the big night was on Saturday and I have been looking forward to this for weeks. This band played at the fabuilous forty watt on Saturday night and it totally made my year!

FAUST! This band has been around since the 70's and was absolutely amazing. It was a dream come true to see them....

That is not all though. Sunday I was able to attend a workshop with the band and played music with them for 4 hours!!!! I couldn't believe it. I was in my element. Playing music with one of my all time favorites blew me away. They were so great. So nice and very serious about their music and how they play. If you didn't know any better you would think just by listening to them that it is just a bunch of noises however every noise is calculated and organized it was awesome.

After Sunday came and went. I was so excited to know that I had a holiday on Monday and would be allowed an extra day to recover. It was so mice. Yesterday I did continue to celebrate. I wont go into it completely but I will say my weekend consisted of brunches, drinks (a ton and even BEER) dinners and deserts. I didnt sell myself short this weekend and I lived it up! I am going to have to be SUPER good this whole week to make up for the craziness that happened the last 4 days. No regrets though. This is how life is sometimes!

Ok so now that you got my recap lets get to business. This weeks food is going to be very light and very healthy. I need to detox big time. So simple is the name of the game this week.

This morning I had a simple bowl of oat bran and chopped banana with almond milk. I must have stretched my stomach with all the food and drinking this weekend because I was hungry only after a hour after this bowl. I decided though that I would wait until my snack to have this. Fage 0%. I added some stevia to it and it was great before my run.

This weekend I did still get in my workouts. On Saturday I lifted some weights and on Sunday I ran my 5 miler and went for a walk. Yesterday was weights only and today is going to be my cardio. I plan on running 4 miles. I will see what I can crank out though while I am there. I am not doing back to back cardio anymore as my knee is feeling good and I dont want to risk another injury. Right now I am doing this schedule.

Monday-Full body weights

Tuesday-50 minutes of cardio and yoga for 30 minutes or a walk

Wed-Full body weights

Thursday- 50 minutes of cardio and yoga or a walk

Friday-Weights

Saturday-swimming or some light weights

Sunday-5 miles of running

This is what I have been trying to do anyway, I am active even on rest days but take it slow. This is a good way to keep my body guessing too as I like to change it up every couple of weeks.

Lunch after my 50 minute workout is going to be this lovely tofu salad!Sorry for the major close up. It was too good looking of a salad not to get right in there.

I ate this for lunch and finally felt full. I think that my stomach is in need of a good shrinking. I am going to eat nothing but clean food this week, I have some catching up to do.

After lunch I ate a raw bell pepper dipped in mustard and then for dinner I had this baby.

Yes, I am still in a salad mood. I just cant help myself! I love me a good salad. On the side I had this and it was just what a FALL evening called for. Baked acorn squash. YUMMY! SO there you have it folks. My eats for the week!
